  • Publication number: 20210207740
Abstract: A fluid control valve includes a valve housing having a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet. A valve body is disposed within the valve housing and is transitional relative to the valve housing between an open position and a closed position. In the closed position, the valve body prevents fluid flow between the fluid inlet and the fluid outlet. The valve body is incrementally transitional from the closed position to the open position to incrementally increase the amount of fluid flow from the fluid inlet to the fluid outlet. A flow control element is positioned within the valve housing downstream of the valve body. The flow control element includes a peripheral body and an inward body having a plurality of flow control passageways extending therethrough. The flow control element additionally includes an opening defined collectively by the peripheral body and the inward body.

  • Publication number: 20160215900
Abstract: In accordance with the present invention, there is provided a control valve comprising there is provided a control valve comprising a valve body having a valve bonnet which is cooperatively engaged thereto. The body and the bonnet collectively define a housing which accommodates a valve trim comprising a flow control element and a complementary valve plug. The plug is attached to a reciprocally rotatable valve stem of the control valve. In the control valve, the reciprocal rotary movement of the valve stem of the valve through the packing area thereof, rather than the reciprocal liner movement of the valve stem through such packing area, is used to facilitate the reciprocal linear movement of the plug cooperatively engaged to the stem. The use of a rotary stem design instead of a liner reciprocating stem is operative to reduce fugitive emissions from the valve.

  • Patent number: 6401829
Abstract: A fire fighting apparatus includes a chassis that can be in the form of a trailer that supports a pedestal and an articulating boom with a submersible hydraulically driven pump at an end portion of the boom opposite the pedestal. A diesel engine mounted on the chassis powers both a hydraulic pump and a transfer pump. Water picked up by the submersible pump at the end of the boom is received on the chassis and then transferred under pressure to a fire fighting hose. A dual filter arrangement can be used to remove trash that is picked up by the submersible hydraulic pump. A hydraulic motor on the chassis can be used to operate the boom during unfolding and folding and to transfer hydraulic fluid to the submersible pump.
