  • Publication number: 20170082814
Abstract: A housing for fiber optic cable pivotably attachable to an adjacent housing to form a modular housing system is disclosed. The housing may include a first body having a plurality of members angled relative to one another to form a first chamber therebetween, the first body including an opening for receiving a fiber cable in the first chamber. An attachment feature may alternatively pivotably attach one of: a) a first cover to the first body to selectively enclose a first side of the first chamber in a cover state, or b) a second body of an adjacent housing to the first chamber to create a joint chamber involving a second chamber of the second body and the first chamber of the first body in an attached housing state.

  • Patent number: 9366838
Abstract: A secure cable housing system for use within a secure fiber optic communications network is provided. The secure cable housing system includes a non-secure cable box and a secure equipment box. The secure network equipment box includes a secure interior cavity, and the non-secure cable box is smaller than the secure interior cavity such that the non-secure cable box fits within the secure interior cavity. The secure network equipment box allows the optical cable to be received into the secure interior cavity without disconnecting the fiber optic cable from the non-secure box.

  • Publication number: 20160131855
Abstract: Fiber optic assemblies and systems for high-speed data-rate optical transport systems are disclosed that allow for optically interconnecting active assemblies to a trunk cable in a polarization-preserving manner. The fiber optic assembly includes at least first and second multifiber connectors each having respective pluralities of first and second ports that define respective pluralities of at least first and second groups of at least two ports each. The first and second multifiber connectors are capable of being disposed so that the at least first and second groups of ports are located on respective termination sides of each ferrule. The fiber optic assembly also has a plurality of optical fibers that connect the first and second ports according to a pairings method that maintains polarity between transmit and receive ports of respective active assemblies. At least one of the first and second groups are optically connected without flipping the fibers.

  • Publication number: 20150043883
Abstract: A secure cable box for use within a fiber optic communications network including a plurality of walls defining an interior cavity is provided. The cable box includes a door moveable between opened and closed positions to provide access to the interior cavity and a preformed opening formed through one of the plurality of walls providing a passage extending between an outer surface and an inner surface of the wall. The preformed opening is sized to receive a fiber optic transmission element therethrough. The cable box includes a gate located within the interior cavity adjacent an inner end of the preformed opening, and the gate is moveable between a first position in which the gate blocks the preformed opening and a second position in which the preformed opening is unblocked.
