  • Patent number: 5802623
Abstract: An electronic air oxidizer deodorizing system includes an air conduit including inlet and outlet ends. The air conduit houses therein a zapper comprising a pair of spaced apart highly charged electrodes which create an electrical discharge therebetween. A blower is also provided for drawing air through the inlet end and past the electrodes.

  • Patent number: 5361422
Abstract: A toilet ventilating system for use with a bowl incorporating a sewer line connection and including an upstanding vent conduit leading from the bowl rim outlets to an elevated cross over in the water storage tank and then dropping downwardly to form an exhaust conduit connected with the sewer connection. A centrifugal fan having a flow rate of 60 cubic feet per minute is incorporated in the vent conduit and a trap valve is incorporated in the cross over for selectively opening and closing communication between the vent conduit and the exhaust conduit. The trap valve incorporates a floating cylinder, positioning of which is controlled by water pumped from an elevated reservoir through a positive displacement pump. A controller is provided for controlling the positive displacement pump to open the trap valve, actuation of the centrifugal fan and closure of the trap valve, deactuation of the fan and actuation of the flush valve.

  • Patent number: 4947492
Abstract: A lavatory system suitable for use on a commercial passenger aircraft includes a toilet bowl for receiving waste and a waste-holding tank in fluid communication with the toilet bowl for receiving waste from the toilet bowl. A flapper valve is provided in the bottom of the toilet bowl and operates to control the passage of the toilet bowl contents into the waste-holding tank. Water, which may be from the potable water supply system, is directed into the toilet bowl to wash the sides of the toilet bowl and to assist in moving waste material to the waste-holding tank. A water inlet valve controls the introduction of water into the toilet bowl by actuation of a flushing switch. The water is introduced into the toilet bowl through a single nozzle which moves and progressively directs the flow of the water onto the entire interior of the toilet bowl in such a manner that a minimal amount of water is utilized per flush.

  • Patent number: 4882792
Abstract: The automatic hydraulic valve control apparatus is intended for use in combination with a lavatory waste tank of a vehicle, such as an airplane. The waste tank includes a drain, a rinsing valve, and a fluid pressure charging inlet. The hydraulic valve control apparatus includes a drain control valve biased to be in an open position, a drain valve responsive to opening of the drain control valve and fluid pressure in line, a rinse valve control including a timing circuit to control the amount of pre-charging of the tank once the drain closes, and a drain control valve actuator including a timing circuit operating to close the drain after a desired period of time. An anti-siphon circuit is also provided to allow a given amount of gas to enter the charging line once rinsing and pre-charging of the waste tank are completed.
