Patent number: 11600062Abstract: A camera system for defining an inspection space including one or more cameras placed in proximity to a sink or wash station. The camera system is configured such that points within the defined inspection space are visible and may be recorded, but objects outside the defined inspection space are blurred or invisible. This is accomplished by selecting depth of field or by attaching a computing device that is programmed to not record or save information from parts of the image.Type: GrantFiled: September 8, 2020Date of Patent: March 7, 2023Inventor: Raymond C. Patent number: 8249295Abstract: A system to allow employers to monitor employee handwashing or hand sanitization compliance in a facility with a plurality of touchless dispensers for metering a cleanser, disinfectant or lotion on the hands of a user. A detector associated with each dispenser triggers operation of the dispensing mechanism and sends a signal to a local controller which date and time stamps the dispensing act. The controller sends a report to a central computer which identifies the dispenser and the date and time of each dispensing act. The reports from the several dispensers is stored in a database for management review. On receipt of a signal from the detector, the controller may also trigger operation of a preferably touchless input device to identify the user. Data collected by the input device is relayed to the central computer through the controller. The central computer is programmed with an algorithm for matching the data collected by the input device with data previously collected and identified with the user.Type: GrantFiled: March 9, 2009Date of Patent: August 21, 2012Inventor: Raymond C. Johnson

Patent number: 7542586Abstract: A system and method for monitoring hand washing or application of a disinfectant wherein a pattern recognition algorithm executed in a computer compares one or more digitized images of a user going through hand washing or disinfectant application motions with a reference set of images and creates a pass/fail report. An input device, digitizer and computer used in monitoring hand washing or application of a disinfectant may also be used as part of a touchless identification system to authenticate the user wherein an image processing algorithm and a mathematical algorithm executed in the computer identifies the user based on data extracted from the user's digitized hand images.Type: GrantFiled: November 28, 2005Date of Patent: June 2, 2009Inventor: Raymond C. Johnson

Patent number: 6970574Abstract: A system and method for monitoring hand washing or application of a disinfectant wherein a pattern recognition algorithm executed in a computer compares one or more digitized images of a person going through hand washing or disinfectant application motions with a reference set of images and creates a pass/fail report. The digitized image may be taken by a video camera and color quantified to reduce the amount of computing power required before clusters of pixels with similar color classifications are determined and shapes identified.Type: GrantFiled: March 12, 2002Date of Patent: November 29, 2005Inventor: Raymond C. Johnson

Patent number: 6038331Abstract: An apparatus and method for monitoring hand washing wherein a subject's hands are checked after he or she has applied soap or detergent and spread it over the front and back of his or her hands. An optical image of the subject's hands is digitized and compared, pixel by pixel, with a reference feature that distinguishes the soap and a report is generated indicating whether the subject's hands are covered with enough soap or detergent to receive a satisfactory report.Type: GrantFiled: February 17, 1998Date of Patent: March 14, 2000Inventor: Raymond C. Johnson

Patent number: 5734325Abstract: An alarm device for night deposit boxes consists of a housing with a tear gas or dye-releasing alarm in a housing mountable inside the deposit box. The housing includes electrical circuitry, which is connected by a flexible conductor cable to a trigger switch fitting into a magnetic keeper. The keeper is mechanically connected to the deposit box door assembly by a flexible cable. The circuitry includes a key-operated disabling switch and a light-emitting diode which is momentarily energized through a capacitor when the circuit is enabled.Type: GrantFiled: October 10, 1995Date of Patent: March 31, 1998Assignee: ICI Americas Inc.Inventors: Raymond C. Patent number: 5534060Abstract: Machine and method for applying an anaerobic sealant and locking material into a workpiece bore in which an outwardly flaring cup mounted onto a rotatable anaerobic material reservoir and spin cup drive having a truncated conical wall with openings therein to feed the anaerobic material into the flaring spin cup in response to the centrifugals on the material as the reservoir and spin cup is rotatably driven. The anaerobic material will be spun from the cup in a controlled manner so that an annular layer of anaerobic material is applied onto the bore wall. A closure member can be subsequently inserted into the bore being sealed and permanently retained therein by the material. In a preferred method, the reservoir and spin cup assembly is moved between a retracted material load position and an extended material apply position.Type: GrantFiled: November 28, 1994Date of Patent: July 9, 1996Assignee: Schenck Turner Inc.Inventor: Raymond C. Patent number: 5515032Abstract: An anti-theft alarm to be concealed within an article likely to be stolen causes an alarm such as release of smoke, tear gas, dye. The alarm is responsive to continual motion and requires an initial motion followed by motion in each of a series of intervals following the initial motion.Type: GrantFiled: February 8, 1995Date of Patent: May 7, 1996Assignee: ICI Americas Inc.Inventor: Raymond C. Patent number: 5448223Abstract: A currency alarm pack for triggering an alarm to foil a bank robbery consists of a receiver for detecting an electromagnetic field at the exit of a bank and a circuit which activates an alarm to release dye and/or tear gas when the alarm pack leaves the field. The receiver has automatic gain control hysteresis causing its gain to increase when it first detects the field so that it automatically locks onto the field. This reduces the chance of activation of the alarm pack inside a bank if the robber does not exit the bank immediately.Type: GrantFiled: September 28, 1994Date of Patent: September 5, 1995Assignee: ICI Americas, Inc.Inventor: Raymond C. Johnson

Patent number: 4412340Abstract: An apparatus for automatically detecting the existence of an unknown narrband signal in the presence of wide-band noise-like interference. The apparatus performs a one-bit autocorrelation at a delay time such that wide-band signals are decorrelated while narrow-band signals remain correlated. Additionally, the autocorrelation is separated into quadrature components which are re-combined to give an estimate of the envelope of the autocorrelation of the input signal.Type: GrantFiled: December 28, 1981Date of Patent: October 25, 1983Assignee: The United States of America as represented by the Secretary of the ArmyInventors: Marion C.
