  • Patent number: 4917566
Abstract: The invention enables owners of backhoes and similar equipment to use their machines either as a backhoe or as a crane with only minor modifications. The invention provides an attachment for a backhoe that takes advantage of existing hydraulic pistons on the backhoe as the lift implement for the crane.

  • Patent number: 4235024
Abstract: An apparatus for producing a treatment bed with a fluidized, circulating medium comprises a fluidization container having intake means for a fluidization agent and means for vibration in the longitudinal direction comprises a fluidization grid consisting of a plate having a plurality of vents arranged in rows alternating with a plurality of rectilinear unvented strips, the strips being parallel to the vertical plane containing the direction of the vibrations.

    Assignee: Charbonnages de France
    Inventors: Raymond Chauvin, Pierre Guillon
  • Patent number: 4071304
Abstract: In apparatus for treating and separating products in granular form, a container is provided with fluidization and vibration means, the grains and the pulverulent solid are subjected to the fluidization treatment only in a vertical portion of the bed, the circulation currents arising therefrom are utilized for separating, within the container itself, the treated product in granular form from the pulverulent solid, and the vibrations are utilized for discharging the treated products to the outside.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 4057605
Abstract: Light granular material is manufactured from silico-aluminous material by crushing and/or screening the silico-aluminous material to a fine powder which is mixed with water to form a slip which is divided into drops which are immediately introduced into a hot fluidised bed. The water evaporates rapidly and the drops are converted into expanded granules which are recovered and subjected to ceramic firing.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 4, 1975
Date of Patent: November 8, 1977
    Assignee: Charbonnages de France
    Inventor: Raymond Chauvin
  • Patent number: 3979168
Abstract: An expanded granular material, particularly intended as a lightweight aggregate for concrete, is produced by melting a finely ground fusible silico-aluminous material, such as fly ash, in the presence of a controlled atmosphere intended to inhibit the liberation of gases coming from the silico-aluminous material, and then forming the melt into drops and cooling under conditions to permit gases to escape from the material thereby causing is expansion.
