  • Publication number: 20060124614
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for fixing a miniaturized component, especially comprising a micro-optical element, to a pre-determined fixing section of a baseplate by means of a soldered joint. Said baseplate comprises an upper side and a lower side, and the component comprises a base surface. At least the fixing section of the baseplate is coated on the upper side by a metallic layer which is applied at least in the fixing section in a continuously plane manner and thus without interruptions. Solder material is applied at least to the fixing section coated with the metallic layer. In one step of the method, the component is arranged above the fixing section, the base surface of the component being positioned above the solder material in such a way that they do not touch, are vertically interspaced and form an intermediate region between each other.

  • Patent number: 4348121
Abstract: A strike and non-strike impact control mechanism for typewriter comprises a drive shaft (4) equipped with at least two cams (8 and 9) corresponding to different strike forces, a tracker (13) of the contour of said cams, the movement of which is transmitted to a printing element (1), means (17 and 18) for displacement of said tracker (13), and means (20, 40 and 41) for receiving command impulses. So as to avoid the transfer of significant amounts of energy in the course of giving command impulses the mechanism comprises a tension spring (39) which acts upon the displacement means (17 and 18) so as to cause them to work in connection with an abutment apparatus (34-38). Said abutment apparatus (34-38) is controlled in various positions by said reception means (20, 40 and 41). A return apparatus (59 and 61) driven by drive shaft (4) returns displacement means (17 and 18) to a position known as normal following each complete rotation of said shaft (4).

  • Patent number: 4344714
Abstract: A device for positioning the beginning of the line in a typewriting machine of the kind with a typing element carried by a carriage (1) includes at least one margin stop (13) for the carriage (1). This margin stop (13) is fixed on a mounted margin rack (19) sliding against the action of a spring (24). An escapement pawl (5), working with a rack bar (10), is carried by the carriage (1). A universal bar (11) disengages the pawl (5) from the rack bar (10) at the time of the return of the carriage (1) and frees the pawl (5) at the end of its path. In order to avoid a situation where the pawl (5) falls in a displaced notch of the rack bar (10), the device is in addition supplied with means for locking the pawl (5) in a disengaged position relative to the rack bar (10) during the movement of the sliding margin rack (19).

  • Patent number: 4299505
Abstract: The invention concerns a shift mechanism for typewriters having a carriage in which the shift instruction is transmitted by two distinct interlocks of which one is in an active position when the other is in an inactive position. Each interlock is controlled by a primary lever and an auxiliary lever which causes it to work in connection with drive means serving to place it in an active position. A stirrup-shaped pivotal part is provided with two principal elements, one of which comprises the auxiliary lever controlling a first one of the interlocks, and the other element comprising an arm capable of being driven by the second interlock, the latter being normally controlled by the primary lever connected to a key on a keyboard.

  • Patent number: 4109778
Abstract: Angular displacements of a rotary member in, for example, a typewriter are controlled by moving a guide roller to shorten and lengthen the path of an elongate flexible member attached at one end to a rotatable stationary pulley and at its other end to an attachment piece, this member being a belt having notched ends one engaging a toothing on a part of the pulley and the other an arcuate toothed segment forming the attachment piece.

  • Patent number: 3972404
Abstract: Depressing the upper case shift key lever pivots a balance beam from a first to a second position, thereby raising the lower case shift lever to an inactive position. When the upper case shift key lever is released, the balance beam is returned to its first position, causing the lower case shift lever to fall to its active position.
