  • Publication number: 20200384160
Abstract: A strengthened Mg based alloy comprising Mg as a base element and at least two microalloying elements. A microstructure having at least one of dislocations, stacking faults, coherency strains, grain boundaries and dislocation domains decorated by segregation of microalloying elements. One of the microalloying elements is a large atom element having an atomic size larger than the atomic size of a Mg atom and another of the microalloying elements is a small atom element having an atomic size smaller than the atomic size of the Mg atom. The microstructure includes an absence of continuous films of grain boundary intermetallic compounds.

  • Patent number: 10022470
Abstract: A microalloyed magnesium material for absorption in the body of a human or animal. The microalloyed magnesium material consists of: 0.85 to 1.4 percent by weight of zinc (Zn), 0.2 to 0.5 percent by weight of calcium (Ca), 0.2 to 0.5 percent by weight of manganese (Mn) with the remainder being magnesium (Mg) and inevitable impurities.

  • Publication number: 20080000557
Abstract: A method and apparatus for producing ultra-fine grained magnesium metal alloy material sheets. The apparatus molds and rapidly solidifies a metal alloy material to form a fine grain precursor. The precursor is then subjected to deformation strains that alter the grain structure of the precursor so as to form a ultra fine grained structure in sheet form. The sheet form may then be subjected to superplastic forming to form a net shaped article.

  • Publication number: 20060283529
Abstract: A method and apparatus for producing ultra-fine grained metal material sheets. The apparatus molds and rapidly solidifies a metal material to form a fine grain precursor. The precursor is then subjected to a series of successive alternating tensile and compressive strains that alter the grain structure of the precursor so as to form a ultra fine grained structure in sheet form. The sheet form may then be subjected to superplastic forming to form a net shaped article.

  • Publication number: 20060196626
Abstract: The present invention provides an alloy for components of semi-solid injection molding machinery. In particular, the alloy is a intermetallic-hardened steel, known as a Maraging steel alloy. The Maraging steel alloy includes Cr, Co, Mo, and about 0.15% or less by weight C.
