Abstract: The invention relates to a new class of pyrrolobenzimidazole, benzimidazoloisoquinoline and dipyrodinobenzodiimidazole in cyanine sensitizing dyes derived therefrom and their use in silver halide emulsions, and to methods for preparation of such new dyes.
