  • Patent number: 6018824
Abstract: A ventilator for use with a toilet has a motor driven fan and an air freshener disposed in seriatim in the customary narrow gap between a raised closet seat and a flush tank, for inducing vitiated air from a closet bowl, and discharging freshened air into the ambient atmosphere. A thin housing, supporting a fan and an air freshener, is attached to the front of the flush tank, behind the raised seat. The large height, width, area and volume, of the gap behind the raised seat, accommodates a large canister, fan, air freshener, and battery to energize the fan motor. The ventilator is relatively unobtrusive for a large ventilator, and often hidden by the raised lid.

  • Patent number: 4530075
Abstract: Disclosed is a coupler for connecting together electrically and mechanically adjacent sections of a marine seismic streamer. The coupler includes a split cylindrical electrical connector housing assembly which establishes electrical interconnection between the adjacent streamer sections. The coupler includes an outer sleeve, which surrounds the electrical connector assembly and transmits tension forces across the coupler.

  • Patent number: 4344194
Abstract: A toilet seat and lid assembly having air ventilating and deodorizing equipment concealed in the lid, and one or more air passages extending through the seat in seriatim with one or more air conduits providing air communication between the closet bowl and an air chamber which houses the air ventilating and deodorizing equipment in the lid, whereby such equipment is effective to remove odorous air in the bowl, and to deodorize the removed air before expelling it to the ambient atmosphere when the toilet is in use.

  • Patent number: 4166298
Abstract: A toilet deodorizer having a hollow housing, containing a motor-driven fan and a filter medium, mounted within the normal flush tank air chamber. The housing divides the air chamber into an intake receptacle, inside the housing, and an exhaust receptacle, outside the housing. The intake receptacle is open to the overflow conduit through an inlet aperture, and is open to the exhaust receptacle through an outlet aperture. The fan induces air from the closet bowl through the overflow conduit, and thence through the filter into the exhaust chamber, thereby deodorizing the closet bowl.

  • Patent number: 4044408
Abstract: An improvement directed to toilet deodorizers, ventilators and air fresheners of the type which induce odorous air from the toilet bowl via the water tank overflow conduit. Such accessaries are subject to water vapor intrusion from the water tank. A normally-closed air valve means impedes the water vapor intrusion when the accessary is not in use.

  • Patent number: 4017916
Abstract: A ventilator for toilets is disclosed which includes an air duct to receive and remove the odorous air, an air suction device to establish the odorous air flow, a control for initiating and terminating the odorous air flow, and an electrical transducer responsive to the motion of the toilet flushing mechanism so as to terminate the air flow at the moment the toilet is flushed.

  • Patent number: 4011608
Abstract: An electric deodorizer for water closets is disclosed which includes an air duct entering the water tank so as to draw odorous air from the toilet bowl via the water tank overflow duct, an air blower to establish the odorous air flow, and a control means which is responsive to the change in operating characteristics of the air blower when the toilet is flushed, so as to automatically terminate the deodorization.

  • Patent number: 4007498
Abstract: A ventilator for toilets is disclosed which includes an air duct to receive and remove the odorous air, an air suction device to establish the odorous air flow, a control for initiating and terminating the odorous air flow, and a sensor responsive to the presence of water in the overflow duct, so as to terminate the air flow at the moment the toilet is flushed.

  • Patent number: 3942200
Abstract: A ventilator for toilets is disclosed which includes an electrically operated blower and an exhaust conduit for withdrawing odors from the toilet bowl through the flush water distribution outlets within the bowl, and through the overflow pipe within the water tank.Special electrically operated air valves, and special electrical controls are provided so that one central system may effectively remove emission odors from all of the toilets within a household. The combination of air valves and electrical switches provides completely independent ventilation of each toilet although only one blower is normally employed. The special valves of this invention provide the unique function of repressurizing the water tank at the moment the toilet is flushed. A unique switching device is provided for the control of the valves.

  • Patent number: 3939506
Abstract: A ventilator for toilets is disclosed which includes an exhaust conduit connected to the upper portion of a toilet water tank for withdrawing odors from the toilet bowl through the overflow pipe in the water tank and flush water distribution outlets in the toilet bowl. A fan located in the attic and resiliently suspended therein to reduce noise resulting from fan vibrations draws odor laden air from the top of the water tank and discharges the odor laden air into the attic. A special control circuit for the attic fan is connected to the bathroom light switch which requires the light switch to be turned on, off, and back on again within a predetermined time interval before the attic fan will be turned on. A pressure sensing switch is provided which cuts the fan off when the pressure in the toilet tank reaches a predetermined low level after the tank is flushed. One preferred connection of the exhaust line to the interior of the water tank makes use of the hollow rim of toilet tank cover.
