  • Publication number: 20160157835
Abstract: A urine sample collection device adapted to be removably connected to a urine sample container and comprising a funneling portion having a side wall defining an upper opening and a lower opening, a cylindrical portion disposed adjacent to the lower opening of the funneling portion about a vertical axis, and a handle disposed on the side wall of the funneling portion and extending radially away from the vertical axis. Preferably, the upper opening of the funneling portion is larger than the lower opening, and the cylindrical portion is adapted to be removably attached to the urine sample container. A method for collecting a urine sample comprising providing a urine sample collection device and removably attaching the urine sample collection device to the urine sample container.

  • Publication number: 20110060519
Abstract: A navigation device is capable of a first level of operation and a second level of operation. In at least one embodiment, the device includes a processing resource arranged to support, when in use, an operational environment. The device also includes a data store operably coupled to the processing resource and arranged to store updatable data useable by the operational environment. The device further includes a communications network interface for supporting connectivity with a subscription-free communications network. The first level of operation consumes less power than the second level of operation, and the processing resource supports an activation module arranged to cause a transition from the first level of operation to the second level of operation. The processing resource is also arranged to use the communications network interface following the transition to the second level of operation in order to download data.

  • Publication number: 20070057778
Abstract: A switch function is incorporated into an audible alarm by sensing obstruction of a sound emitting orifice opening into the chamber of an acoustic impedance matching network of the alarm. The alarm has an electromechanical sound transducer in acoustic communication with the chamber and an electronic drive circuit for driving the transducer. The circuit senses a change beyond a selected threshold of the sound pressure wave in the chamber caused by the obstruction. Some means by which the sound pressure change can be sensed are by sensing voltage, current or phase changes of the impedance of the transducer or by directly sensing the sound pressure wave by a microphone or the use of a third terminal on a piezoelectric transducer. The invention can also be used with acoustic frequencies outside the range of frequencies that are perceivable by human hearing and can be used as a proximity switch that switches in response to an obstruction or a gas or fluid stream.

  • Patent number: 4372372
Abstract: A heat exchanger disposed in the piping of the drain line of a shower bath closet for conducting heat from the spent shower bath water to the water entering the cold water inlet of the shower bath. The heat exchanger has at least two concentric helical coils through which the incoming water flows and over which the spent bath water flows. A central core baffle directs the spent water between the helical coils for good transfer of heat. The spent water preheats the incoming cold water thereby reducing the amount of hot water required from the water heater.
