  • Patent number: 7472160
Abstract: A method for identifying a registered domain name as auctionable is provided. The registered domain names may be pulled from a database of desired domain names, such as a collection of domain names that one or more interested entities have requested to register using a domain name registration system. Requesting a domain name may be probative of demand for the domain name. Accordingly a domain name receiving a threshold level of interest may be tagged as auctionable. For example, a domain name may be tagged as auctionable when a total number of interested entities is at least equal to a minimum threshold of interested entities. Tagged domain names may be acquired by an escrow agent when a current registration expires and auctioned among interested entities. In addition, the owner of a tagged domain name may be notified to see whether the domain name can be auctioned before expiration.

  • Patent number: 7418471
Abstract: A preferred embodiment of the present invention can accept an indication of a domain name or set of domain names from interested entity. The desired domain names are names that an interested entity desires to register through a domain name registration system or systems, such as that operated by a registry-accredited registrar. The system can closely monitor the domain name registry or registrar databases used to provide domain name resolution or registration over a distributed network, such as the Internet, and determine the expiration or availability of the name or names supplied by the interested entity. When a desired domain name appears to be available, the system can register or re-register the domain name through a domain registration service. If there is more than one interested entity for a domain name, the system can also facilitate an auction for the domain name.

  • Publication number: 20060195582
Abstract: A preferred embodiment of the present invention provides for transfer fulfillment or reassignment of an expired internet domain name registration to a new registrant before the registration is purged from the registry. In one example, the method calls for first identifying a registered domain name of interest, for example through expressions of interest by users of a web site; or receiving backorders from interested entities for a new registration of the domain name. Second, auctioning the expiring domain name among the interested entities. And finally, before the registration is purged from the registry, reallocating the domain name registration to the winner of the auction so that the domain name registration is not deleted by the registry.

  • Publication number: 20060161681
Abstract: A preferred embodiment of the present invention integrates a domain name monitoring and acquisition service with a registry system. The monitoring and acquisition service can receive a request from a registrar to acquire a domain name. The monitoring and acquisition service also can receive a pending delete notification from the registry for a domain name having a registration that is about to be deleted. The pending delete notification can be received before the registry issues a public delete notification or purges the domain name, at which point the domain name is registrable by the first-responding registrar. If the domain name that is the subject of the pending delete notification has a corresponding acquisition request received by the monitoring and acquisition service, the monitoring and acquisition service can request acquisition of the domain name for the requesting registrar.

  • Publication number: 20050234921
Abstract: A customer having little or no technical training or experience can publish documents, images and other content to the web using the disclosed methods and systems. A simple e-storefront portal guides the user to selection of a desired domain name, if she does not already have one, and the system registers the domain name automatically to the user. It sets up a virtual server associated with the registered domain name for publication of the user's content. A client application is configured, downloaded and installed on the user's computer desktop.

  • Publication number: 20020082950
Abstract: A product planning development and program management information system and method is disclosed. This system is accessible by a plurality of users. The system includes a communications network with a server computer in communication with the communications network and a client computer in communication with the communications network. A first program runs on the server computer. The first program is configured to provide access to a product planning environment through the client computer. The product planning environment has fields for entry of a target price and has fields for displaying a calculated price. The calculated price is based on selections of product characteristics and part selections being made by a user of the first program. The first program provides a display of the product as configured by the user. Further, a second program is in communication with the first program. The second program uses data from the first program and is configured to provide product program management functions.

  • Patent number: 6161881
Abstract: Disclosed is a window and lock assembly for releasably locking a sash component of a window in a closed position with respect to a frame component; wherein the lock assembly includes two catches mounted on said frame component at spaced apart positions. The catches are rotatably movable between locked and unlocked positions, wherein a slide bar connects the two catches. Rotation of the first catch causes rotation of the second catch, wherein in the unlocked position the first catch is rotationally closer to the first keeper than the second catch is to the second keeper.

  • Patent number: 5406599
Abstract: A weld fixture for receiving and aligning the fuel rod contact points of a nuclear fuel bundle spacer grid. Two plates are provided with intersecting unequally spaced slots that define polygons on one side of each plate. Both plates have bores therethrough substantially at the slot intersections and in the slots adjacent the outer edges of the plates. Bores are provided through both plates in polygons that correspond to fuel assembly guide tube and instrument tube locations. These positions receive guide cell pins during use, some of which are hollow and are used to bolt the plates together over the spacer grid strips. Bores in each plate through the defined polygons receive alignment pins. Guide rods receive and align the plates through corner bores in each plate. The slots and pins in the facing plates align the critical fuel rod contact points in the spacer grid during the intersection welding process.
