  • Patent number: 11996989
Abstract: An application specific interface (AA-NAPI) associated with an application for the purpose of controlling the networking aspects of the application session is provided by communication service provider (CSP). Cost model of network service types associated with a specific application type is learned by using the AA-NAPI. For each service-point joining the session, network properties are queried by using the AA-NAPI. During continuous service quality monitoring, upon detection of quality degradation leading to the decision to upgrade session quality, network service-type associated with a specific server-point is changed by using the AA-NAPI. Network specific actions are taken to reconfigure the network so that the requested service type is received by the specific service-point. New network capability is activated to improve network service level by using the AA-NAPI.

  • Publication number: 20080177628
Abstract: The problem with Point of Sale (POS) receipts is that the information is “dead” because it is only printed. A solution is to send it to the customer by the Internet allowing it to remain in a digital format. A system and a method for transmitting by the Internet cash register information to a customer. The cash register looks up the customer's digital record, updates it with the current sales, selects an appropriate protocol, attaches additional information and sends the current sales information with the additional information to the customer's Internet address. All the sales information is processed in a repeating fashion. Furthermore handling of coupons is costly. In one embodiment sales receipts contain rebates, allowing them to be later redeemed digitally. In a further embodiment the rebates are personalized by using content-based and collaborative-based technology.

  • Publication number: 20080168341
Abstract: A digital spreadsheet system that recognizes formula names and formula variables in real-time, that constructs a formula in accord with the formula's name and that enters it in the associated cell. The digital spreadsheet method consists of recognizing a formula's name, of traversing the spreadsheet's used range to identify the formula related variables, of identifying errors and missing information, and if applicable of prompting the author to correct the errors and to complete the missing variables, of constructing a formula that relates to the formula's name, of recognizing the likely place the result is to be inserted, of asserting that no other data is located at that place, and if applicable of prompting the author to specify an alternate location and of inserting the completed formula at that location.

  • Publication number: 20070256004
Abstract: A method and a computer program are provided for displaying the result of any formula in a spreadsheet in accordance with validation conditions. In one embodiment the sum of a column is compared to the sum of a row and if the two results are equal one of the totals is displayed otherwise an error message is displayed. In another embodiment the result of any valid formula is compared to a valid condition and if the result agrees with the condition the result is displayed otherwise an error message is displayed. In the preferred embodiment the result of any valid formula is compared to a valid condition moreover another condition is tested and if the conditions are validated the result is displayed otherwise an error message is displayed and an interface signals the errors.

  • Publication number: 20050077425
Abstract: A thruster for propelling and directing a vehicle without interacting with its environment without using propellant and particularly adapted for use in space, comprising rotating means having a pair of a first and a second axes of rotation, connectable to the vehicle such that each of the first and second axes of rotation extends opposite to each other with respect to a center of mass of the vehicle. The thruster is also provided with actuator means for actuating a first and a second rotational movement of the rotating means respectively around each of the first and second axis of rotation. The first rotational movement is actuated in a clockwise direction thereby generating a first reacting torque in a counter-clockwise direction that causes a pivotal movement of the vehicle around the first axis of rotation in the counter-clockwise direction.
