  • Patent number: 4841656
Abstract: A safety mechanism for a projectile weapon includes a stop means such as a lever pivotally mounted to prevent the movement of the trigger to a position enabling the weapon to be discharged. A biasing means such as a spring is also attached to the lever to maintain the lever in the blocking position. Spaced from the trigger on the stock of the weapon is an actuator mounted for movement on the exterior of stock and pivotally connected to a second lever which is pivotally attached to the stock. The first and second levers are connected by a transfer bar such that movement of the actuator shifts the first lever with respect to the trigger to allow the trigger to be moved to the discharge position. The actuator is shown in the form of a slidable plate and a push button.

  • Patent number: 4754568
Abstract: A safety mechanism for projectile weapons includes a stop means mounted to prevent the movement of the trigger and/or hammer to a position enabling the weapon to be fired. The stop means includes a generally cylindrical pin having one end extending through a wall of the weapon and the internal body under spring pressure biasing the pin to a first safety "on" position. A cam lobe is formed on the body of the internal portion and engages a portion of the trigger and/or hammer to prevent movement of the trigger and/or hammer from the disabled position. A radially extending key formed on the pin engages a slot in the wall of the weapon to prevent the pin from being rotated about its longitudinal axis. In order to disengage the safety, pressure is applied to the pin to move it to a second position along a path parallel to the longitudinal axis of the pin whereby the key is moved out of the slot to permit rotation of the pin about its longitudinal axis.

  • Patent number: 4633528
Abstract: A plate adapted to form a device for protecting a human body or the like has one surface formed in a plane at an angle with respect to the plane of an opposing surface. Pairs of such plates with the angled surfaces abutting can be enclosed in pockets formed in a flexible material to provide a sheet of protective material. A plurality of pairs of the plates can be arranged in overlapping pockets in rows and columns to form a protective vest or coat.

  • Patent number: 4628626
Abstract: A safety mechanism for firearms includes a stop means such as a pin mounted to prevent the movement of the trigger and/or the hammer to a position enabling the firearm to be fired. The pin is pivotally mounted for movement to either side of the firearm to enable the actuation of the trigger or the hammer. In an alternate embodiment, the stop means can be a slide which is mounted in a slot adjacent to the hammer. The slide is moveable into and out of engagement with the hammer and can be spring biased to discourage unintentional movement.
