  • Publication number: 20230397984
Abstract: An intraocular lens (IOL) configured to support a first optic for functioning as a single lens IOL and configured to support a second optic for functioning as a dual optic IOL. The base includes a first optic for providing a base power. A recess in an anterior rim of the base is configured for positioning a radial extension of a second optic. The geometry of the recess is configured to securely couple to the radial extension to prevent rotation of the second optic relative to the base and prevent tilting of the second optic relative to an optic axis.
    Type: Application

  • Publication number: 20230190771
Abstract: A hydrogel nanocomposite based acne treatment patch loaded with doxycycline and a method of developing thereof is described herein. The present invention relates to the preparation of biocompatible hydrogel matrix comprising polyvinyl alcohol, linseed mucilage extract, nano zinc-oxide crosslinked dually via covalent linkages and free radical polymerization by electronic beam exposure. The pore size of the hydrogel acne patch ranges between 0.1-0.5 ?m. The doxycycline loaded acne patches were able to inhibit the growth of S. aureus in an in-vitro bacterial growth inhibition assay.

  • Publication number: 20230181371
Abstract: Chronic wounds are medical care concern and severe clinical challenge worldwide. A nanofiber based new wound dressing scaffold and a method of developing thereof for treating diabetic wounds is described here. More specifically, the present invention relates to the preparation of biocompatible Polyacrylonitrile (PAN) nanofiber scaffold comprising of Quercetin, Zinc oxide and polyacrylonitrile by electrospinning. The nanofibers formed has the average diameter of approximately 160 nm and show excellent antibacterial and wound healing potentials.
