Abstract: The disclosed compositions, methods, and systems are useful in treating and preventing various cancers associated with buildup of mitochondrial cholesterol. In many embodiments, the disclosed compositions, methods, and systems may improve the efficacy and cytotoxicity of chemotherapeutic compounds, for example increasing cellular sensitivity to chemotherapy and/or reducing or preventing resistance. In many embodiments, the cancer may be early or late stage hepatocellular carcinoma.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are compositions, methods, and systems for enhancing cholesterol degradation in a cell, tissue, or organism. In many embodiments, the disclosure describes the use of one or more proteins, or sequences coding therefor, to enhance flow of cholesterol into the mitochondrion, where the cholesterol is degraded by one or more proteins comprising bacteria-related sequences. The compositions, methods, and systems disclosed herein are useful in the prevention or treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions associated with high levels of cholesterol in the blood or cells of a patient.

Abstract: A unicondylar posterior cutting block, method of use and kit of surgical components are provided, with the cutting block comprising: a base which is mountable on a resected proximal tibial surface of a knee of a patient in use; and a body pivotally attached to the base, the body including an alignment formation arranged to align with a marking on a femur in use, the body defining a cutting guide therein for receiving a cutting instrument to make a unicondylar posterior cut in the femur and wherein moving the alignment formation to align with the marking on the femur causes the body to rotate relative to the base and to tilt the cutting guide relative to the base. Different bases offer different cut positions and rotation of the base offers further different cut positions.

Abstract: The invention is a dispenser security system which has an ambient light sensor to detect tampering with a fuel dispenser. The ambient light sensor will be used to detect the delta change in light over time. If the delta change occur within a certain criteria then a thief is determined to be occurring and an alarm or warning is sent out. The ambient light sensor is located within a control box within the fuel dispenser unit.
