  • Patent number: 11316299
Abstract: In a particular implementation, an electric power device includes a body, a receptacle configured to receive a plug, and a source connector configured to be coupled to a power source. The electric power device further includes a casing coupled to the body and movable with respect to the body between a first position in which the casing defines an enclosed chamber and access to the receptacle is inhibited and a second position in which the casing is configurable to enable access to the receptacle for receipt of the plug. A transition from the first position to the second position is configured to cause the receptacle to be electrically decoupled from the source connector when the casing is at the second position, and a transition from the second position to the first position is configured to cause the receptacle to be electrically coupled to the source connector when the casing is at the first position.

  • Publication number: 20210169391
Abstract: An apparatus used in a method for generating an ear electroencephalogram (EEG) signal from an ear of a patient includes: a housing; a first electrode provided on a first portion of the housing received within an ear canal of the ear, such that the first electrode is disposed against a first surface of the ear canal to generate a first ear canal signal; a second electrode provided on a second portion of the housing structured to be received within a concha of the ear when the first portion is received within the ear canal, such that the second electrode is disposed against a surface of concha to generate a concha signal; and electronic circuitry provided within the housing, the electronic circuitry being structured and configured to generate a first in ear signal after receiving the first ear canal signal and the concha signal.

  • Publication number: 20190387856
Abstract: A hair styling appliance includes first and second heating plates operatively connected for pivotal displacement relative to one another such that a hair segment positioned between them can be styled. A glide-speed sensing system generates an output having a relation to a speed with which the hair segment is displaced relative to the first and second heating plates. A glide-speed indicating system can communicate feedback to a user, based on the output, such as an indication of a glide speed of the hair styling appliance relative to the associated hair segment. A user input device can receive an input from the user regarding a hair-type classification and/or a hair-condition classification and generate a hair-related output having a relation to the input from the user.
