Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for enabling a smart automatic skip mode during playback of a content item. A content item is generated for output at a first time at a computing device, and input associated with navigating the content item is received. Metadata associated with a plurality of segments of the content item is identified and, based on the input and the metadata, a segment to skip is identified. The segment to skip is skipped, and the content item is generated for output at a second time.

Abstract: Systems and methods for selecting a data delivery network are disclosed. The methods comprise requesting multimedia content delivery, the request comprising an indication of available bandwidth, receiving an indication of an expected performance threshold of a multimedia content item associated with the request for multimedia content, determining a fetch time for the multimedia content item to be delivered from a first data delivery network, and, in response to the fetch time being above the expected performance threshold, selecting a second data delivery network to deliver the multimedia content item.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for adapting playout of a plurality of media items. One example method includes receiving one or more inputs representing a conversation between an audience of two or more people experiencing the playout of the plurality of media items, processing the input to determine a level of engagement of the audience with the playout of at least one of the plurality of media items, and adapting playout of the at least one of the plurality of media items before the scheduled start of the next media item in the schedule to take account of the inputs representing the conversation.

Abstract: A payment transaction is initiated for a user, based on a voice command, on a public voice-activated device. A user device associated with the user is identified. A transaction identifier is generated and transmitted to the identified user device. Once the user has entered their banking or credit card information to use for payment, a payment token is received from the user device. The transaction is then completed using the payment token. The payment token may be generated from a local digital wallet on the user device, or from a server-based digital wallet.

Abstract: Systems and methods are presented herein for modifying messages transmitted between a first computing device and a second computing device based on the determination of a context of messages transmitted between the first and second computing devices. A first message, prepared to be transmitted to a second computing device, is prepared at a first computing device. Based on an identifier corresponding to the second computing device, a plurality of devices communicably coupled to the second computing device are determined. Selectable options are generated at the first computing device which, when selected, determine which of the second computing device or one of the plurality of communicably coupled devices will receive the transmitted message. Based on the selection of an option, the message may be modified to fit the format of the device corresponding to the selected option and transmitted to the device corresponding to the selected option.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for generating an improved user interface that dynamically refers to related portions of media content items. First media content item is sent for display to a device. A first keyword associated with a currently transmitted first portion of the first media content item is identified. A first related media content item comprising a first portion associated with the identified first keyword is identified. The device displays a first identifier of first related media content item including an identification of the first portion of the first related media content item that is associated with the identified first keyword. The device then pauses the displaying the first media content item. The first portion of the identified first related media content item that is associated with the identified first keyword is displayed. The device then resumes generating for display the media content item.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for customizing a profile page. A first user profile and a second user profile are accessed by a computing device. First and second pluralities of content items associated with the first and second user are identified. Based on the first and second user profiles, first and second subsets of content items of the first and second plurality of content items are selected. For each content item of the first subset of content items, an image associated with the content item is identified. For each content item of the second subset of content items, an image associated with the content item is identified. Based on the identified images, first and second image collages are generated for the first and second user profiles. The first and second image collages and first and second indicators corresponding to the first and second user profiles are generated for display.

Abstract: Systems and methods for determining whether an alert should be generated, a delay period should be configured, or both, for a message composed in a messaging application or received by it, are disclosed. The methods determine a relationship score between a sender electronic device and a recipient electronic device. One or more analysis factors, which are determined based on the relationship score, are used to analyze the content of the message to determine whether the content is appropriate based on the relationship score and the applied factors. If the content is not appropriate, then an alert warning the sender of the inappropriate content is generated. A transmission delay period that is dynamically changed based on the relationship score and factors is embedded into the message such that the message may not be delivered until the expiration of such delay period. Emergency-related content is transmitted without an alert or delay.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described herein for highlighting objects with a primary content that are likely to be of interest to a user viewing the primary content. More particularly, when the system receives a segment of primary content to be displayed on a user equipment device for consumption, the system analyzes the received segment to identify an object within the received segment. The system then checks a database storing supplemental content to determine whether supplemental content associated with the identified object is available. When supplemental content associated with the identified object is available within the database, the system modifies the received segment of the primary content to highlight the identified object and displays the modified segment of the primary content on the user equipment device for consumption.

An input associated with a content item delivery service is received at a computing device. A capture of a user is received, and a digital representation of the user is generated based on the capture of the user. A posture of the user is determined based on the digital representation of the user, and a content item genre is identified based on the determined posture. A content item recommendation that is based on the identified genre is generated and output.

Abstract: Systems and methods for determining shared congruent objects between warming up media assets and a secondary content item are described. The warming up media assets, along with their reactions, are posted on a social media platform. A secondary content item is identified for display and congruent objects displayed in the secondary content item are used as recommendations to identify the warming up media assets. In some embodiments, the warming media assets do not include a display of the product or service that is the focus of the secondary content item. The congruent objects used as recommendations are determined based on selection of a reinforcement strategy which ranges from a soft to a hard reinforcement. Once a warming up media asset is identified, instructions are transmitted for its display, which may include displaying it at the top of a social media feed and auto-playing the warming up media asset.

Abstract: Systems and methods for determining, based on recommendations provided by users that have consumed a media asset, which consumption options may be configured on a media device such that when configured enhance the user viewing experience for a specific media asset. The method includes accessing comments posted by other users that have consumed the media asset. The comments are analyzed to determine a consumption option recommendation. If the number of comments meet a threshold value, then the system either automatically configures the media device or configures the media device upon user approval with the recommended consumption option. The recommendation to configure a consumption option on the media device is made only if the recommendation is supported by the media device. The system also detects through audio and image analysis which users are consuming the media asset and accordingly configures the consumption options to their preferences.

The second content source is different from the first content source. The first interface and the second interface are simultaneously accessible to a first device. A user preference is detected based on a user interaction with the first interface. The second interface is automatically updated to comprise identifiers of a third plurality of content items that are available from the second content source. The third plurality of content items is selected based on the detected user preference from the user interaction with the first interface.

Abstract: Systems and methods for dynamically routing notifications based on device statuses are disclosed herein. For instance, a notification may be generated for a user account corresponding to an application that is installed on a plurality of devices. A system identifies a status of each of the plurality of devices and uses the status of each of the plurality of devices to select a particular device to receive the notification. The system then transmits the notification to the selected particular device.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described for operating a group watching session. In particular, group communications for a group watching session displaying a media content item to multiple users is initiated, one or more communication clusters for the group communication is generated, a user preference of a first user of the multiple users participating in the group communication is determined, and, based on the user preference, the first user is assigned to a first communication cluster of the one or more communication clusters for communication with another of the multiple users.

Abstract: Systems and methods are presented for providing dynamic summaries of missed content of content streaming on multiple device. A plurality of groups for a concurrent presentation of a content is identified, and a selection is received by a user via a second device to join a first group of the plurality of groups for the concurrent presentation of the content. Based on a user via the second device joining a group, a determination is made as to whether a user via the second device missed any content from the concurrent presentation of the content for the first group. Based on the detection of missed content, the system generates for the second device one or more summaries of the missed content segments and the missed reactions to the segments based on preferences associated with the user profile. In response to generating the summaries, the summaries are presented via the second device to the user.
