  • Publication number: 20230049360
Abstract: The skeletal position of a pitcher at the moment of foot strike in the delivery of a pitch is compared against a plurality of skeletal positions, the plurality of skeletal positions being associated with a plurality of pitchers, each skeletal position being associated with the moment of foot strike in the delivery of a pitch. A value representative of a position of the pitch on a spectrum is provided, the spectrum being defined by a characteristic known about each of the pitchers of the plurality, the characteristic being Tommy John surgery or maximum fastball speed.

  • Publication number: 20190311313
Abstract: In the method, a predetermined group of demands, including demands that have associated parameters, are used, in respect of a shift of a job, in a process wherein, in respect of demands (i) that lack associated parameters, the amount of time that a worker, in the course of the shift, performs each demand, is derived; and (ii) that have associated parameters, each time such a demand is performed in the course of the shift, the duration, and associated parameters, is derived. The loads placed upon the muscles of the worker in the shift are calculated using, for each demand performed that is of the type that: (i) lacks associated parameters, the determined demand time and a predetermined group of load factors associated with said demand; and (ii) has associated parameters, the determined demand time, a predetermined group of load factors associated with said demand and said parameters.

  • Patent number: 9468382
Abstract: A user's information uploaded onto a computer. Target data are selected and are downloaded to a wearable monitoring unit (WMU). The WMU includes a heart rate monitor, a unit accelerometer, a GPS, one or more force-micro-sensors, and an audio and/or video output. The audio/video output may provide information to the user. A display provides a continuously updated visual indication of whether the use has achieved the preselected optimum expenditures for a time segment. The WMU has an internal calendar/clock, a processor and/or memory. The processor compares measured heart rate and energy expenditure for multiple time segments against target levels stored as the user-specific wellness or rehabilitative physiotherapy program. The comparison is used to generate compliance output data.

  • Publication number: 20110087137
Abstract: A user's personal biometric information such as age, sex, weight, height as well as the user's lifestyle information, such as daily caloric input, job description, smoker status and physical fitness, is uploaded onto a host computer. Target heart rate, energy and/or caloric consumption levels related to desired fitness and weight loss goals for a particular individual are then selected having regard to fitness levels for an individual of comparable age, and consuming similar calories are then downloaded to a caloric monitoring unit. The caloric monitoring unit is provided for measuring the user's heart rate and dynamic energy and/or caloric expenditure over one to four weeks. The caloric monitoring unit includes a heart rate monitor, a unit accelerometer, a global positioning system (GPS), and an audio and/or video output.

  • Patent number: 7914425
Abstract: A hydraulic exercise machine system comprises one or more hydraulic cylinders, a mechanism coupled to at least one of the hydraulic cylinders, and a sensor assembly. Displacement of the mechanism by a person exercising on the hydraulic exercise machine displaces pistons of the hydraulic cylinders relative to the cylinders. The sensor assembly is to sense displacement of a piston relative to its cylinder over time.

  • Patent number: 7846067
Abstract: Consistency of motion is monitored over a period of time while a person is exercising on an exercise machine that impacts one or more muscles and/or muscle groups of the musculoskeletal system of the person. A measure of fatigue of the one or more muscles and/or muscle groups for the period of time is calculated. An evaluation of the exercise session is provided, based at least in part on the measure of fatigue and the monitored consistency.

  • Publication number: 20070232452
Abstract: A computerized spinning exercise system comprises a spinning exercise machine, a sensing system, and a computer and communication system coupled to the sensing system. The spinning exercise machine has a flywheel and different resistance settings for the spinning exercise machine may be selected. The sensing system is to count rotations of the flywheel due to activity of a person when exercising on the spinning exercise machine. The computer and communication system is arranged to process mechanical properties of the spinning exercise machine, the count of rotations and a selected resistance setting of the spinning exercise machine in order to generate user performance data for the activity.
