  • Patent number: 6772783
Abstract: A valve is disclosed that is operable by converting rotational force of a stem into linear motion of a valve closure element, such as a sleeve, to control fluid flow through the valve. In a presently preferred embodiment, at least two interconnection members are rotatably mounted, such as with a round end, to a stem drive element. The interconnection members are slidably mounted into channels or grooves in a sleeve. Rotatable movement of the stem permits rotation of the interconnection members whereby the interconnection members are constrained to slide in the channels whereby rotational movement of the stem is converted into translational or linear movement of the valve closure element.

  • Patent number: 4886121
Abstract: A new wellhead housing structure which utilizes identical units of a unique wellhead housing of selected internal diameter and pressure rating. Each wellhead housing utilizes a new flexible bowl ("flexbowl") hanger support ring which may be installed and removed as desired during assembly of the wellhead structure during completion of the well. Each wellhead housing forms an internal circumferential groove to receive the flexible bowl hanger support ring in position to receive and support different kinds and sizes of hangers for casing, protective sleeves, and the like. The flexible bowl support ring is drawn into a contracted position. The contracted support ring will pass through the wellhead housing and is seated by a setting tool. Subsequently, a tubing or casing hanger may be landed upon the support ring and supported by the support ring which serves the same functions as the bowl seat in a conventional wellhead housing. The support ring may be removed by a removal tool.

  • Patent number: 4787642
Abstract: A high pressure seal structure to seal against fluid pressure around a cylinder member movably. The structure includes an integral circular metal sealing ring including a pair of first circular sealing lips having a cross-section of chevron shape axially opening in a first direction to flexibly extend with a first inner lip in sealing relation against the cylindrical surface of the cylinder member and with the first outer lip in sealing relation against a cylindrical wall formed in the housing. Also included is a pair of second circular sealing lips having a cross-section of chevron shape axially opening in a second direction to flexibly extend with a second inner lip in sealing relation against the cylindrical surface and with a second outer lip in sealing relation against the cylindrical wall. A deformable inner sealing ring having a triangular cross-section is closely fitted in the space defined by the first inner lip, the second inner lip, and the cylindrical surface.

  • Patent number: 4774980
Abstract: Wellhead flow control valve including a valve body, a hydraulic linear actuator means connected to valve body in alignment with operating chamber. Actuator has Belleville spring return. A seat sleeve carrying a valve seat and an internal lining mounts at outlet of operating chamber. Drive shaft moves flow control member of prescribed configuration into and out of valve seat sleeve. Flow control member and valve seat cause complete flow closure. Hydraulic conduit connects into actuator to admit hydraulic fluid to move piston and to compress spring. Activator is responsive to a pilot signal for: activating a pump control switch; to permit operation of pumps; activating a by-pass valve switch to keep closed a by-pass valve between conduit and sump of pump; and activating a blocking valve switch to keep open a blocking valve connected between pump and actuator.
