  • Publication number: 20100116737
Abstract: Oscillatory crossflow membrane separation apparatus and methods are disclosed for effluent treatment. The apparatus include a membrane module with a housing containing a membrane element, said module having an input for receiving effluent for treatment and a treated effluent output. A crossflow pump is connected for moving oscillating fluid through the membrane module and a feed pressure pump is connected with the membrane module for applying membrane operating pressure. A fluid oscillator is active with either pump for pulsating fluid received thereat.

  • Publication number: 20090032446
Abstract: A mobile station and methods are disclosed for diagnosing and modeling site specific effluent treatment facility requirements to arrive at a treatment regimen and/or proposed commercial plant model idealized for the particular water/site requirements. The station includes a mobile platform having power intake, effluent intake and fluid outflow facilities and first and second suites of selectably actuatable effluent pre-treatment apparatus. An effluent polishing treatment array is housed at the station and includes at least one of nanofiltration, reverse osmosis and ion-exchange stages. A suite of selectively actuatable post-treatment apparatus are housed at the station. Controls are connected at the station for process control, monitoring and data accumulation. A plurality of improved water treatment technologies are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 6315894
Abstract: Automated process, conditioning and treatment apparatus and methods are disclosed that are particularly well adapted for closed loop systems using or producing aqueous effluence with varying amounts of suspended solids therein, the apparatus and methods directed to separation of the solids from the effluence and thus cleaning of the centrate. The apparatus includes a mass flow rate meter, liquid polymer injector, and a controller for receiving the monitored rate from the meter and performing analysis to optimize the rate of injection of liquid polymer. The injector is monitored to further optimize the injection rate.

  • Patent number: 5171090
Abstract: A device for dispersing a substance, for example, dry particulate material, in a liquid is disclosed having a funnel eductor for distributing and carrying the substance in a flow stream and a cyclonic dispersal eductor for inducing the flow stream and introducing the flow stream having the particulate matter therein into a spirally moving liquid flow stream. The dispersal eductor preferably includes first and second liquid input ports defining first and second dispersal stages, respectively, with the substance, in liquid, output from the first stage being introduced into the liquid being input through the second liquid port at the second stage, each port being positioned so that a spiralling liquid flow is imparted, liquid flow at the second stage being counter-rotational relaive to liquid flow in the first stage.
