  • Patent number: 10604352
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method by means of which conveyor belts of belt conveyors, which can be loaded with a bulk material, have their operational behaviour and/or state and/or loading monitored during operation, wherein the belt conveyor has provided on it at least one radar-antenna combination, which consists of at least one transmitting antenna and one receiving antenna and is oriented onto the conveyor belt, wherein a radar-antenna combination arranged to the side of the conveyor belt periodically picks up the reflection from emitted radar beams by way of the side edge of the conveyor belt and/or the loading boundary of a bulk material located on the conveyor belt and communicates corresponding signals to a signal-processing unit, whereas a radar-antenna combination oriented onto the surface of the conveyor belt periodically picks up the reflection of emitted radar beams, on the one hand, by way of the surface of the conveyor belt and, on the other hand, by way of reinforcing supports embedded

  • Publication number: 20180369824
Abstract: The invention relates to a comminuting machine such as a crusher, a mill, or the like, wherein the material to be comminuted is guided through a gap which is formed between at least one wear layer attached to a component of the comminuting machine and a counter surface and the extension of which varies as the wear of the at least one wear layer progresses. The invention is characterized in that in order to determine the wear occurring on the wear layer and/or in order to determine the effective extension of the gap between the wear layer and the counter surface, a radar antenna is provided which is oriented towards the corresponding counter surface. The radar antenna comprises an antenna region and a wear part which is paired at least with the wear layer region provided for a permissible wear and which shortens as the wear layer wears down.

  • Patent number: 8474918
Abstract: A method and a device can be used to monitor the travel path of a cutting extraction machine (1), particularly one used in coal mining, which can be moved along the working front (10) equipped with a face conveyor (9) and an advancing support (12, 13) in longwall mining. Despite extremely poor viewing conditions, the method and device determine hindrances that might be present in the travel path of the extraction machine, in the form of shield caps that are standing low, or extendible cantilevers, sliding roof bars, or other attachments of the advancing support that are hanging down, or overloading of the conveyor, in order to be able to take measures to avoid disruptions in operation, in timely manner. The travel path of the extraction machine (1) is scanned by a radar measurement device (14) assigned to the extraction machine (1), and if a hindrance is determined, an alarm is triggered and/or intervention into the control of the extraction machine (1) takes place.

  • Publication number: 20100194175
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a device for monitoring the travel path of a cutting extraction machine (1), particularly one used in coal mining, which can be moved along the working front (10) equipped with a face conveyor (9) and a powered support (12, 13) in longwall mining. The invention is based on the task of creating a method and a device that make it possible, despite extremely poor viewing conditions, to determine hindrances that might be present in the travel path of the extraction machine, in the form of shield caps that are standing low, or extendible cantilevers, sliding roof bars, or other appurtenances of the powered support that are hanging down, or overloading of the conveyor, in order to be able to take measures to avoid disruptions in operation, in timely manner.
