  • Patent number: 10344698
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method for operating injectors of an injection system, which has a pressure accumulator (rail), of an internal combustion engine, in which needle movement of the injectors is controlled directly by way of an actuator. The method may comprise: determining an actual injection quantity of each injector of the injection system via a fuel quantity which is requested at a pump of the injection system for each injector for a predefined time period or via a pressure loss in the pressure accumulator, the pressure loss brought about by way of the injection operation; comparing the determined actual fuel quantity with a setpoint fuel quantity; and if a deviation is determined in an injector, carrying out an open/closed loop control method for reducing/eliminating the determined deviation.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 13, 2014
Date of Patent: July 9, 2019
    Assignee: CONTINENTAL AUTOMOTIVE GMBH
    Inventors: Reinhard Barth, Roman Etlender

  • Patent number: 9016261
Abstract: For a pressure relief device of an injection system of an internal combustion engine, for an injection system of an internal combustion engine having a pressure relief device and in a pressure relief method of an injection system of an internal combustion engine, a defined fuel pressure of the injection system is reduced to a defined fuel residual pressure upon exceeding a pressure limit above a defined fuel pressure, permitting emergency operation of the internal combustion engine.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 16, 2010
Date of Patent: April 28, 2015
    Assignee: Continental Automotive GmbH
    Inventors: Daniel Anetsberger, Reinhard Barth
  • Patent number: 8970359
Abstract: In a method and a device for wear diagnosis of a motor vehicle, driving events and driving conditions occurring during driving operation are detected, the detected driving events and driving conditions are assigned in each case a wear index value using a table which is stored in a memory of the motor vehicle and which adds up the wear index values assigned to the detected driving events and driving conditions in order to form a total wear index value, and the determined total wear index value is compared with a reference total wear index value derived from a stored characteristic curve.
