  • Patent number: 5194703
Abstract: Push-button device includes a plurality of movably disposed keys and an elastic switching pad having a plurality of domes. Each dome is disposed adjacent to and is engagable by one of the plurality of keys and a dome contact disposed on each dome. A conductor foil having a plurality of contacts is provided, each conductor foil contact being arranged for contacting one of the dome contacts when one of the keys is moved. A printed circuit board having upper and lower faces is arranged near the contact foil. A spacer member disposed between the upper face of the printed circuit board and the conductor foil defines an electrical component receiving space, and there is a plurality of electrical components located on the upper face in the electrical component receiving space.

  • Patent number: 4918271
Abstract: A low-profile keyboard switch having an improved guide structure for guiding the vertical motion of the keys. Each key assembly comprises a guide member and a key including a keypad, a downwardly projecting central plunger and a downwardly projecting leg or skirt, the inner dimension of the leg or skirt being greater than the outer dimension of the guide member. The guide member is provided with a generally horizontal central opening adapted to receive the plunger and generally vertical peripheral walls which serve as a bearing surface for slide cams which project inwardly from the inner surface of the leg or skirt. Together the contact between the key, the central opening and the peripheral walls assure a vertical orientation for the key and a reduced resistance to key motion.

  • Patent number: 4445647
Abstract: A holding arrangement for the supply roll 6 of a tape-shaped recording medium is firmly arranged on the stationary part 1 of the cover of a printer. The holding brackets 2 are provided with bearings 22 which are open in the upward direction. Into these bearings there is inserted a tubular roll carrier 5 on which the supply roll 6 is supported in a freely rotatable manner. The holding brackets 2 are provided with rotatable latch bodies 3 by which the bearings 22 which are open towards above, can be closed. The latch bodies 3 are rigidly in connection with one another via a paper-deflecting yoke 4. In the turned up state of the yoke 4, the bearings 22 which are opened towards above, are unlatched. In order to enable the use of supply rolls of different widths A and B, one of the supporting brackets 2 is provided with a detachable spacing plate 7.

  • Patent number: 4378478
Abstract: A double-domed elastomeric keyboard element is disclosed in which a solid contact disc is connected to the junction of the domes of the keyboard element housing. The inner dome is provided on its inside with a downwardly extending projection which engages the contact disc when the keyboard element is depressed to press the disc against a pair of conductors on a printed circuit board below the element. Because of the non-positive connection between the key plunger and the conductors, the contact pressure is almost equal to the operating force.

  • Patent number: 4363942
Abstract: A key assembly for the keyboards of electric typewriters or similar machines in which a one-piece baseplate forms the cover for the assembly. Crossing webs on the bottom side of the baseplate serve as spacers for the keyboard elements and also as the basis for mounting a contact mat provided with contact beads as well as the associated printed circuit board. The keyboard elements are mounted in the baseplate from above.
