  • Patent number: 6644859
Abstract: The invention relates to a supporting roller set for tiltable, axially movable and rotatable support for a rotary drum which can be driven in rotation. It comprises two supporting rollers which lie symmetrically on both sides of a vertical longitudinal central plane of the rotary drum and are each mounted in two rotary bearings which are fixed on bedplate which is tiltably supported on a static foundation. In order to be able to achieve an optimal self-adjustment with easy action of each supporting roller, each bedplate is supported by way of two articulated bearings disposed at a transverse spacing from one another on the foundation, of which the inner articulated bearing is constructed in the form of a ball-and-socket bearing, whilst the outer articulated bearing forms a movable bearing and is supported on the foundation so as to be slidably movable about the central point of the ball of the inner articulated bearing.

  • Patent number: 6638058
Abstract: A tubular burner for industrial furnaces is capable of achieving a good mixing of combustion gas and fuel. This burner contains an end section projecting into a combustion zone supplied with secondary combustion air, and several separate annular feed ducts for combustion gas and fuel bounded by tubular walls arranged coaxially one inside the other, individual nozzles being arranged in approximately annular distribution in the end wall of the combustion gas feed duct facing into the combustion zone. To achieve a good mixing of combustion gas/combustion air and fuel, at least one outer annular feed duct is constructed essentially as fuel feed duct, whilst the combustion gas feed duct equipped with individual nozzles is arranged radially inside this fuel feed duct.

  • Patent number: 5613782
Abstract: A supporting roller bearing for a rotary drum comprises a supporting roller, supporting on its outer surface a circumferential running surface of the rotary drum. The supporting roller is mounted with axial clearance. A measuring device determines the particular axial position of the supporting roller and is connected by way of a control unit to an adjusting arrangement to alter the angle between the axis of the supporting roller and the axis of the rotary drum as a function of the measured axial position of the supporting roller.

  • Patent number: 4447966
Abstract: A rotary drum having a toothed rim arranged on the drum casing and supported at several peripheral points on the drum casing by evenly distributed bridge members. Each bridge member includes two clips axially spaced from one another and welded to the drum casing and a cross plate which connects the clips and is radially spaced from the drum casing. Each cross plate is rigidly connected to one clip and slideably connected in the axial direction to the other clip so that differing degrees of thermal expansion and resulting deformation of the cross plates and further strain on the cross plates, clips and connection points can be compensated for.

  • Patent number: 4320586
Abstract: A rotary drum comprising a bearing ring loosely arranged on the drum shell and spacer plates arranged between the ring and the shell, a pair of elements for axially holding a spacer plate in position being provided at one end of each spacer plate, one retaining element being arranged on the drum shell and the other retaining element being arranged on the spacer plate. This construction enables the spacer plates to be readily replaced and the radial clearance to be changed without any need to loosen a retaining element fixed on the drum shell.

  • Patent number: 4206836
Abstract: The apparatus comprises a main drive including a main motor and main gearing disposed between the main motor and the unit being driven; an auxiliary drive including an auxiliary motor and auxiliary gearing disposed between the auxiliary motor and the main gearing; a clutch between the auxiliary gearing and the main gearing; and a centrifugal brake connected to the auxiliary drive. A further centrifugal brake is connected to the main drive.

  • Patent number: 4026410
Abstract: A plurality of parallel strands comprise chain links which are articulately connected together by grate pins that extend transversely over the entire width of the grate. Rod-like holding members are carried on the chain links and extend substantially parallel to the grate pins. Assemblies of individual support bars have upper edges higher than the chain links, each support bar having two recesses to receive two rod-like holding members. Each assembly of support bars extends substantially between the longitudinal centers of two chain links and is supported by a separate pair of rod-like holding members, for receiving material deposited on the travelling grate chain, and comprises slots for the passage of treatment gas. Each pair of rod-like holding members is interrupted at an intermediate point to provide a gap for insertion and removal of the support bars.

  • Patent number: 3977824
Abstract: A housing for a travelling hearth has longitudinally spaced vertical columns which support a plurality of horizontal beams and housing sheets. Some of the beams are subjected to higher temperature loading than are others. Those beams that are subjected to lower temperature loading are fixed to each column whereas those that are subjected to higher temperature loading are fixed only to every second column and are slidably connected to the intermediate columns.
