Abstract: A medical apparatus comprises a processor unit which is configured to generate and display a checklist comprising a plurality of maintenance checks to be performed on the medical apparatus. The plurality of maintenance checks comprises only those maintenance checks which are necessary for the medical apparatus as currently configured. In addition, the checklist comprises a due date for each of said maintenance checks. When a maintenance check is completed, then the processing unit determines the next relevant due date. In a method for generating a checklist, a processing unit of a medical apparatus produces a checklist. The checklist comprises a plurality of maintenance checks to be performed on that medical apparatus and the plurality of maintenance checks comprises only those maintenance checks which are necessary for the medical apparatus as currently configured. The checklist is displayed on a display device.
