  • Patent number: 7622688
Abstract: A tap changer has an insulating housing and a plurality of annular arrays of contacts fixed in the housing. A vertical switching shaft in the housing carries contacts positioned to engage the fixed contacts of the respective array on rotation of the shaft. A tap-changer head closes an upper end of the housing, and a head flange above the tap-changer head is formed with threaded fastening bores. A geneva transmission on the tap-changer head has an output connected to the shaft and an input shaft projecting vertically upward from the head into the head flange. An upper transmission stage boltable to the bores on the head flange is connectable to the input shaft. A handwheel drive has a flange with an upper cover through which the input shaft extends and a handwheel or hex fitting on an upper end of the input shaft.

  • Patent number: 7550688
Abstract: The invention relates to a tap changer having a switching monitoring device, which is arranged above the upper transmission stage in a housing. For monitoring purposes, two cam switches are provided which are actuated by a cam disk which is connected to the contact-bearing switch column of the tap changer. The cam disk has a horizontally split contour at its end face, wherein one of the two cam switches runs on each partial contour.

  • Patent number: 7497745
Abstract: A contact arrangement for use on an insulating rod having an upper fastening bore and a lower fastening bore has a U-shaped contact having a pair of limbs each formed with an upper bore and a lower bore. The contact is fittable around the rod with the limbs flanking the rod and the upper and lower bores of the limbs aligned with the respective upper and lower bores of the rod. Respective upper and lower contact holders each have a pair of mounts flanking the rod and respectively downwardly and upwardly engaging the limbs of the contact. The mounts of the contact holders are formed with bores aligned with the bores of the rod and with the bores of the respective limbs. Dielectric upper and lower pins extend through the bores of the mounts of the holders, the bores of the limbs, and the bores of the rod.

  • Publication number: 20080248700
Abstract: The invention relates to a contact arrangement in which an electrical contact of U-shaped construction is fixed in common by two contact holders, which surround it at the top and bottom, and selectably also upper and lower screening caps, by means of two pins which go through corresponding bores not only of the described components, but also of the insulating rod at which the fastening shall take place.

  • Publication number: 20080169178
Abstract: The invention relates to a tap-changer for low power switching on a step transformer. Said tap-changer is closed on the top by a tap-changer head which comprises a head flange wherein a drive shaft, which is guided from the outside, is mounted. An upper gear step and a hand wheel drive can be mounted on said head flange by means of a compatible hand wheel drive flange without requiring additional components, in particular, a special tap-changer head.

  • Patent number: 6838629
Abstract: A force-storing unit for a tap changer has an output shaft journaled in a support and a pair of parallel guide rods fixed on the support, defining a longitudinal direction, and spaced parallel to the shaft. A force-storing slide and an output part are displaceable longitudinally along the rods between respective end positions. Teeth on the output part mesh with a gear carried on the output shaft. Mechanism between a drive shaft and the slide displaces the slide longitudinally on the rods in a direction dependent on a rotation direction of the drive shaft and loads a spring between the slide and the output part as the slide is moved longitudinally relative to the output part. A latch connected between the slide and the output part retains the output part in each of its end positions until the slide moves into the respective end position.

  • Publication number: 20040011631
Abstract: The invention relates to a energy accumulator for a sequence switch, provided with a lifting carriage (8), which may be operated by a drive shaft and a driven piece (9), which in turn operates a drive shaft connected to the transfer switch. Between both components, tensioning springs (10) are conventionally located. Both components are longitudinally guided along guide rods (6, 7), arranged laterally one below the other. The driven piece (9) is toothed, the longitudinal movement of which after release is directly transformed into a rotational movement of the drive shaft (28), by means of said toothing and a meshed gear wheel (27).
