  • Publication number: 20140153726
Abstract: A vehicle sound system includes a subwoofer system having a subwoofer, a satellite amplifier for driving the subwoofer, a host amplifier for receiving an audio signal, a noise management processing unit for providing, to the host amplifier, information to be used for achieving a desired audio environment, a sensor for providing information to the noise management processing unit concerning the ambient audio environment, a control line between the satellite amplifier and the host amplifier for transmission of control signals to the satellite amplifier, and a signal line between the satellite amplifier and the host amplifier for transmission of audio signals to the satellite amplifier, the satellite controller being configured to cause a diagnostic signal to be placed on the control line, the diagnostic signal being indicative of an operating condition of the subwoofer system.

  • Publication number: 20140067103
Abstract: A remote node for bi-directional digital audio data and control communications includes remote components including: a remote transceiver; a remote low-voltage power supply that provides power to the other remote node components; and a sub-system that derives a master clock signal from received digital audio data. The sub-system includes a phase-locked loop (PLL) that is locked to a PLL input signal and outputs a remote node clock signal, and a switch that selects the PLL input signal from the derived clock signal and the remote node clock signal. The remote node is enabled to receive over a two-wire communication network digital audio data and digital control signals, and to transmit over the network digital control signals. The remote power supply has an input that is configured to be coupled to the network to derive the power for the remote node from power coupled to the network by a host end.

  • Patent number: 8615091
Abstract: A system for accomplishing bi-directional digital audio data and control communications. There is a host end that includes a host transceiver, a host digital signal processor that outputs a master clock signal and audio data, and a source of low-voltage power for the host components. There are a number of remote nodes connected together serially. Each remote node includes a transceiver and a low-voltage power supply that provides power to the other remote node components. A shielded two-wire communication network connects the host node to one of the remote nodes, and connects each remote node to either one or two other remote nodes in a daisy-chain configuration. The host end is enabled to transmit and receive over the communication network digital audio data and digital control signals. The remote nodes are each enabled to receive over the communication network digital audio data and digital control signals, and are each enabled to transmit over the communication network digital control signals.

  • Publication number: 20130044895
Abstract: An apparatus for providing an audio signal to drive a speaker system includes first and second audio channels. The first audio channel has a first class-D amplifier for receiving an input signal, and a first reconstruction filter for receiving an output from the first class-D amplifier and reconstructing therefrom an output audio signal for driving the speaker system. The second audio channel has a second class-D amplifier for receiving an input audio signal, and a second reconstruction filter for receiving an output from the second class-D amplifier and reconstructing therefrom an output audio signal for driving the speaker system. The first and second reconstruction filters have corresponding first and second planar inductors, with the second planer inductor being magnetically coupled to the first planar inductor.
