Patent number: 10979613Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer program products for automatically positioning a content capturing device are disclosed. A vehicle, e.g., an UAV, carries the content capturing device, e.g., a camcorder. The UAV can position the content capturing device at a best location for viewing a subject based on one or more audio or visual cues. The UAV can follow movement of the subject to achieve best audio or visual effect. In some implementations, a controller device carried by the subject can generate one or more signals for the UAV to follow. The controller device may be coupled to a microphone that records audio. The signals can be used to temporally synchronize video captured at the UAV and audio captured by the microphone.Type: GrantFiled: October 17, 2017Date of Patent: April 13, 2021Assignee: Dolby Laboratories Licensing CorporationInventors: Timo Kunkel, Cong Zhou, Vivek Kumar, Remi S. Patent number: 10959034Abstract: A system and method of adjusting an audio output in one location so that its propagation into another location is reduced. As a first device in a first location generates sound, a second device in a second location detects the propagated sound. The first device then adjusts its output based on the detected sound.Type: GrantFiled: January 8, 2019Date of Patent: March 23, 2021Assignee: Dolby Laboratories Licensing CorporationInventors: C. Phillip Brown, Michael J. Smithers, Remi S. Audfray, Patrick David Saunders

Publication number: 20210014615Abstract: Some disclosed methods may involve receiving audio reproduction data and determining, based on the audio reproduction data, a sound source location at which a sound is to be rendered. A near-field gain and a far-field gain may be based, at least in part, on a sound source distance between the sound source location and a reproduction environment location. Room speaker feed signals may be based, at least in part, on room speaker positions, the sound source location and the far-field gain. Near-field speaker feed signals may be based, at least in part, on the near-field gain, the sound source location and a position of near-field speakers.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 17, 2020Publication date: January 14, 2021Applicant: Dolby Laboratories Licensing CorporationInventors: Remi S. AUDFRAY, Nicolas R. TSINGOS, Pradeep Kumar GOVINDARAJU

Patent number: 10805750Abstract: Embodiments are directed to a speaker system that contains multiple low frequency speakers distributed within a room. Each speaker has at least one driver capable of adequate bass response and an integrated microphone and on-board power and digital signal processing capability. The system has a central sound processor that performs a measurement and calibration process for all of the speakers in the room by receiving test signals from the speakers, measuring certain audio characteristics, deriving audio processing coefficients to smooth the bass response, and transmitting the respective coefficients to each speaker for application to the input audio signals for playback.Type: GrantFiled: April 11, 2019Date of Patent: October 13, 2020Assignee: Dolby Laboratories Licensing CorporationInventor: Remi S.
