  • Patent number: 5473717
Abstract: A wall outlet (PMI.sub.1 through PMI.sub.3) for connection of an optical building wiring system is provided, including a receptacle (RI, RI.sub.3) adapted to be fixed in the baseboard (PL) of the wall, into which receptacle optical cords (CO.sub.i, CO.sub.j, CO.sub.1 through CO.sub.4) carrying information to be transmitted to a local area network of a building including a plurality of terminals are inserted, the cords are connected to a terminal associated with the outlet. A removable cover (CI.sub.1 through CI.sub.3) is associated with a removable carrier (SCI.sub.1) of connectors that enables the optical connection of the cords. The cover is capable of occupying a first standby position, in which it closes the front face of the receptacle, and a second active position for use where the plane of the cover forms a dihedron with the front face. The cords exit laterally relative to the receptacle on either side thereof, parallel to the baseboard. First positioning elements (GMI.sub.1 -GMI.sub.2, G.sub.1, EG.

  • Patent number: 5430823
Abstract: The cassette is mounted horizontally or vertically on a support rail and defines a front action face. One of its compartments is used for storing an excess length of optical cable while its other compartment is used for storing an excess length of optical jumper. The cassette includes a fixed first connection for the cable conductor and a removable cross-connection second connection for the jumper, said connections being mounted separately, substantially on the front action face, and being interconnected by an optical lead which is wound down together with the cable conductor and in the same compartment. The cassette is applicable to a distribution frame for telephones or computers.

  • Patent number: 4811361
Abstract: A method and apparatus for transmission of digital data in which data words having M parallel bits are encoded into code words having N parallel bits, the code words being serially transmitted and being accompanied by flags such as Start Delimiter, End Delimeter of the frame or token. The code words and the flags are selected so as to balance the DC component. The time interval between two successive transitions of the serially transmitted signals is limited to four times the period of the serial transmission clock. For detection of errors in transmission, the Hamming distance between a flag and any encoded sequence of the same length extracted from any message is at least equal to 2. The invention is useful with transmitters and receivers that exploit the properties of the transmission method, and is applicable to data networks.

  • Patent number: 4714828
Abstract: An optoelectronic transducer is proposed which includes a PIN diode (2) that delivers a current that is proportional to a light signal that is received. The diode is connected to the input of an inverting amplifier (4) that delivers a voltage signal v.sub.s. A negative feedback means of the transfer impedance type (6) is connected across the inverting amplifier. The transducer further includes a stabilizing means (8) for the amplifier gain and a temperature drift compensating means (10) for compensating for the drift in amplifier temperature. The stabilizing means (8) includes a detector (26, 28, 32) for the high peak of the signal v.sub.s, and the temperature drift compensating means (10) includes a filter means (38) for producing the means value v.sub.m of the signal v.sub.s, and a comparator (40) that receives the signals v.sub.s and v.sub.m and delivers a signal that reproduces the interference of the light signal that has been received.
