  • Patent number: 4357545
Abstract: The present invention is concerned with maintaining the power supply to equipments along at least a section of a transmission line in the event of said line being cut. Each equipment (5) along the line (1) is provided with a local power supply circuit (6,7,9) inserted in the remote power supply loop at the equipment under consideration. A looping impedance (10) is connected in series with the break contacts (11,12) of a controlled switch and parallel across the power supply loop in such a manner as to create a partial power supply loop through the local power supply circuit when the switch is closed. Control means are provided to close the switch in the event of a power failure in the local power supply circuit, and to open the switch again only once the downstream side of the power supply loop draws current above a predetermined threshold value. The above circuit operates for a power supply loop that includes an energy source at one end (E) only of the transmission line.

  • Patent number: 4166981
Abstract: The present invention concerns the transmission of information, and consists in a continuous regulator responsive to the amplitude of a pilot tone included in the signal whose level is to be regulated, including a variable-gain quadripole through which said signal is passed, an automatic gain control loop including a circuit controlling the gain of the quadripole, and an auxiliary feedback loop through which the control circuit also controls the automatic gain control loop. The regulator is applicable with advantage to transmission systems.

  • Patent number: 4099036
Abstract: A remote power supply system is disclosed which is particularly for monocial transmission lines equipped with repeaters. It comprises at least one current transformer inserted between two sections of line in a local power supply circuit at each repeater. The transformer has two identical primary windings one inserted in a first branch connection connecting the inner conductor of a line section to the outer conductor of the other line section, the other inserted in a second branch circuit connecting the other conductors of the line sections.

  • Patent number: 4088850
Abstract: The invention relates in particular to remote supply with AC of repeaters a transmission line with symmetrical pairs. It provides a remote supply system in which the AC remote supply passes through a loop formed by two pairs of the line and in which each repeater is supplied by the secondary winding of a current transformer whose primary winding is formed by two identical windings inserted in series opposition, one in one of the pairs forming the remote supply loop, the other in the other of these pairs. It applies advantageously to the transmission lines which have a path common to an electric power line as is the case for example with a transmission line along electrified railway lines.

  • Patent number: 3978391
Abstract: Current stabilizing device constituted by a two-terminal network in series with a load to be fed. The two-terminal network comprises, in series between its two poles a regulating transistor and a resistor, the regulating transistor being controlled by the current collector of another transistor whose base current is controlled by the difference between a stabilized voltage taken at the terminals of a voltage stabilizing diode through which a current which is itself stabilized flows and the voltage drop across the resistor; several two-terminal networks may be connected together in series. The device is particularly applicable to the stabilization of the remote feeding current for repeaters in telephone cables which are not accessible, for example, submarine telephone cables.
