  • Patent number: 6592682
Abstract: The invention concerns a method for preparing a magnetic material by forging, characterised in that, in a first embodiment, it comprises the following steps; placing in a sheath an alloy based on at least one rare earth, at least one transition metal and at least one other element selected among boron and carbon; bringing the whole alloy to a temperature not less than 500° C.; forging the whole at a deformation speed of the material not less than 8 s−1. After forging, it is possible to subject the resulting product to at least one annealing and hydridation then dehydridation, in another embodiment, it consists in starting with an alloy based on at least one rare earth and one transition metal and proceeding as in the first embodiment. After forging and, optionally, annealing, hydridation and dehydridation treatments, the resulting material is subjected to nitriding.

  • Patent number: 5580396
Abstract: There is disclosed a process for optimizing the magnetic properties of a multiphase product of composition rare earth/iron/boron endowed with permanent magnet properties at ambient temperature. This composition serves as a precursor, which is first subjected to a decrepitation treatment by hydrogenation under low pressure at low temperature to obtain an intermediate hydride in pulverulent form. The pulverulent intermediate hydride is subsequently subjected to a first heat treatment under vacuum for partial dehydrogenation at a temperature below its element separation temperature. The non-separated product thereby obtained is subjected to a second heat post-treatment under an initial primary vacuum and extensively dehydrogenated until the primary vacuum is reestablished at a temperature close to 600.degree. C. The precursor can be an isotropic material obtained by fast quenching, such as wheel quenching or hot welding with a forging ratio of at least 10.

  • Patent number: 5277207
Abstract: For the treatment of bottles before they are filled, the bottles (2) gripped by a clamp (24), are inverted by the pivoting of the clamp about an inversion axis (28) and in the inverted position undergo injection by means of a nozzle (49). At the same time, the clamp and the bottle are driven rotationally about the axis of a rotary roundabout (13) simultaneously treating a plurality of bottles. The clamp is articulated on the sides of an individual receptacle (29) which also turns with the roundabout (13) and which discharges into an annular collector (62). The nozzle (49) is situated at the center of a funnel (61) through which the fluid injected into the bottle falls back into the receptacle (29).Utilization for enhancing the hygiene of the collection circuit for the evacuation or recycling of the treatment fluid.

  • Patent number: 5253910
Abstract: Gripper jaws (38) for bottles are movable between a gripping and a release position. Passage to the release position is controlled by a slide (42) through the action of a ramp (48) and via tenons (44) connected to the slide (42) and sliding in slots (46). The reverse movement is controlled by the same members through the action of a return spring acting on the slide (42). The transmission of movement effected by the systems comprising tenons (44) and slots (46), is irreversible so that the neck (2) of a bottle held between the jaws (38) cannot be disengaged therefrom: a force (F1) applied to the jaws (38) does not enable the slide to be moved in the direction of opening of the jaws (38). Utilization for producing high-speed machines without increasing the clamping force on the objects (bottles) treated.

  • Patent number: 5222716
Abstract: A flow control device has two half-bodies (76, 79) connected to one another with the interposition of an annular seal (92) and forming together a body defining a flowpath (81) between two openings (82, 83), each of which is associated with one of the half-bodies. A closure (86) is mounted in the flowpath (81) for movement between a closed position, in which it is applied against a seat (87) formed on a first half-body (76), and an open position in which it is distant from its seat. The closure (86) is mounted between the seat (87) and the opening (82) of the first half-body (76) and is connected to the second half-body by a rod (88) that passes through the annular seal (92). The annular seal (92) is axially compressible. The flowpath (81) is outwardly bounded by the seal (92).

  • Patent number: 5055142
Abstract: Method for the preparation of permanent magnets at room temperature from an alloy containing at least a mixture of iron (Fe), boron (B) and rare earths (RE) including Yttrium, and for which there is a temperature range wherein said alloy is in two phases; one solid and brittle and the other one liquid. The method comprises heating said alloy under controlled atmosphere at a temperature sufficient to reach said temperature range, treating said alloy, and finally, optionally, allowing the treated alloy to cool. The method being characterized on the one hand in that said Fe-B-Re alloy is in a massive form, and on the other hand, in that the treatment of said massive alloy is carried out by welding of the magnetic solid phase Fe-B-Re.

  • Patent number: 4761528
Abstract: An induction furnace for melting refractory materials into a molten state by induction from a high frequency alternating current source. The furnace comprises a material holding crucible formed by a substantially cylindrical side wall having a single cylindrical turn. The side wall terminates in end portions which are spaced apart from each other to define a slot therebetween which extends generally longitudinally of the cylindrical wall. The side wall portions are connected to the source of alternating current so that the side wall turn comprises both the crucible and an inductor. An electrically conductive, elongated cooled member is mounted in the slot in spaced relation between each of the end portions. The elongated member is electrically insulated from the end portions to increase the breakdown voltage between the end portions.
