Publication number: 20230025074Abstract: The present invention provides a powdered vinegar that comprises partly neutralized vinegar, i.e. vinegar derived acid that is partly neutralized with e.g. sodium and/or potassium hydroxide, and free vinegar derived acid. The invention also provides a process for producing such a powdered vinegar and the use of this powdered vinegar in a foodstuff or a beverage, e.g. as a preservative. The present process offers the advantage that it yields a stable, free flowing powdered vinegar that can suitably be used as a preservative in e.g. processed meat products. The powdered vinegar has a high content of free acid, is easy to dissolve and acts as an acidulant.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 6, 2022Publication date: January 26, 2023Applicant: Purac Biochem B.V.Inventors: Renee BOEREFIJN, Marija ORLOVIC, Kees VAN DER VOORT MAARSCHALK

Patent number: 7704940Abstract: A granulate for use in a particulate cleaning product, the granulate consisting of granules which comprise: (a) at least 30% by weight of granulation auxiliary selected from water-soluble non-acid organic crystalline solids; and (b) at least 0.1% by weight of functional cleaning material other than an enzyme or an inorganic compound; and (c) optionally, one or more other ingredients. The granulate may instead comprise: (a) at least 20% by weight of granulation auxiliary selected from non-acid water-soluble organic crystalline solids; and (b) at least 0.1% by weight of temperature sensitive functional cleaning material other than an enzyme or an inorganic compound; and (c) optionally, one or more other ingredients.Type: GrantFiled: March 7, 2005Date of Patent: April 27, 2010Assignee: The Sun Products CorporationInventors: Renee Boerefijn, Reinhard Kohlus, Vidyadhar Sudhir Ranade

Publication number: 20090124530Abstract: This invention relates to the incorporation of single and double emulsions into a cross-linking polysaccharide matrix selected from alginate and carrageenan, particularly when cured in a saline solution. Beading and extrusion were used as encapsulation processes. Particles were obtained containing 54 to 88% oil. The double emulsion is known to deliver rinse conditioner softness to the wash. The problem has been to incorporate it into a matrix that will allow redispersion in the wash. The emulsions incorporated redisperse in the same manner as they did before incorporation. The technology has been tested for a wide range of oils, however, specific combinations of oils and kappa carrageenan yield excellent particles containing high oil levels, which are suitable for incorporation into detergent powders, with good softening performance.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 6, 2006Publication date: May 14, 2009Inventors: Renee Boerefijn, Sander Bas Kluit, Vidyadhar Sudhir Ranade, Harmannus Tammes

Publication number: 20080318828Abstract: A process for incorporation of up to 2% antioxidant into a granular detergent formulation comprising at least 5% organic surfactant, including the steps of: a) dissolving the antioxidant in an organic surfactant selected from the group comprising anionic surfactant, nonionic surfactant and mixtures thereof, provided that the organic surfactant contains less than 5% by weight, preferably less than 3% by weight soap and most preferably is soap free; and b) adding the solution formed in step a) to the detergent formulation and use of the granular laundry detergent composition to confer improved deposition of the antioxidant onto rubber during a wash process.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 1, 2006Publication date: December 25, 2008Inventors: Renee Boerefijn, Andrew Paul Chapple, Bastiaan Domburg

Publication number: 20070161534Abstract: The invention concerns powdered detergent compositions that display less malodour and less degradation than known powdered detergent compositions, these compositions comprise at least surfactants, sequestrants and/or anti-oxidants, while also heavy metal ions are present. Other components such as support material, soaps, bound water, builders and perfumes can also be present. The invention also concerns a process to make these compositions wherein specific components are added to a mixer through different ports of addition situated downstream from each other.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 10, 2004Publication date: July 12, 2007Inventors: Renee Boerefijn, Janette Cutrona, Marco Klaver, Juliette Old
