  • Publication number: 20220184831
Abstract: A personal care device drive unit comprises a main body housing a motor and enabling releasable connection to any selected one of a set of different functional units. A controller of the personal care device drive unit generates an output signal associated with the selected one of the functional units connected to the main body in dependence on a sensed motor current and a sensed vibration occurring in the main body. The use of both vibration sensing and current sensing (which detects the electrical motor load resulting from driving the selected one of the functional units connected to the main body) enables multiple different functional units to be identified more reliably.

  • Patent number: 10412209
Abstract: A signaling system comprises a user device, and a personal computing device separate from the user device and configured to inform a user about the user device based on information received by the personal computing device from a remote server. In accordance with the present invention, the user device has an indicator to alert the user to use the personal computing device to get information relating to the user device.

  • Publication number: 20160235181
Abstract: A system comprises a first container (2) holding liquid (9) and a second container (4) holding a shaving unit (1) in the liquid (9). A pump (3) pumps the liquid (9) from the first container (2) into the second container (4). A drain (5) enables the liquid (9) to flow from the second container (4) back to the first container (2). A pump driver (6) supplies power to the pump (3) during active periods (Ta) of a cleaning cycle (Tt). A sensor (7) senses the power. A controller (8) detects a disruption in the flow of the liquid (9) by detecting that sensed information (Ab) deviates more than a threshold value (At) from nominal information (An). The nominal sensed information (An) occurs when there is no disruption in the flow of the liquid (9) through the pump (3) during the active periods (Ta).The threshold value (At) is in a range of 0.05 to 0.

  • Patent number: 8505205
Abstract: A personal care system includes an electrical shaver and a cleaning device for cleaning a shaving head. The cleaning device further includes a displacing system for displacing its supporting member relative to a cleaning fluid container from a first position in which the shaving head, when the shaver is supported by the supporting member, is not in contact with the cleaning liquid in the container, to a second position in which the shaving head is at least partially immersed in the cleaning liquid in the container. The cleaning device does not need any pump for displacing the cleaning liquid. Rather, activation of the shaving head that causes, e.g., rotation of a cutting unit, provides a sufficient pumping effect for the cleaning liquid when the shaving head is immersed in the cleaning liquid.

  • Publication number: 20090019702
Abstract: The invention relates to a personal care system (1) comprising an electrical shaver (3) and a cleaning device (5) for cleaning a shaving head (7) of the shaver (3). The cleaning device comprises a container (11) for a cleaning liquid (13) and a supporting member (15) for the shaver. According to the invention the cleaning device comprises a displacing system (17) for displacing the supporting member relative to the container from a first position in which the shaving head, when in operation the shaver is supported by the supporting member, is not in contact with the cleaning liquid in the container, to a second position in which the shaving head, when in operation the shaver is supported by the supporting member, is at least partially immersed in the cleaning liquid in the container.
