    Abstract: A movable diaphragm comprises a layer having a disc shape with undulating waves that extend from an inner diameter to an outer diameter. The layer is to be offset from a stationary surface and displaced toward the stationary surface, the displacement of the layer to effectively cause a respective compression and rarefaction of air between the layer and the stationary surface to an external environment. An annular surround is to seal outer edge portion of the layer to a transducer component, the surround having compliant properties to allow the displacement of the layer relative to the stationary surface and the transducer component without breaking the seal. The undulations increases an effective surface area of the layer to lower an overall size of the transducer that would otherwise be needed for a low frequency speaker.

A cover structure is disposed on top of the waveguide structure to conceal the waveguide structure and speaker within the exterior housing. The cover structure has a tilted bottom surface configured to be suspended above the waveguide structure and to be separated by a first space. Sound waves projected from an upper portion of the speaker are reflected by the tilted bottom surface and are guided through the first space to exit the device from a speaker grill portion located on a rear side of the exterior housing.

The mass port plugs and methods may be used to adapt substantially identical audio drivers for use in ear-cup housings having differing configurations while providing selected detectable sound pressure level profiles.

The electrically-conductive mobile member is disposed in the zone of operation of the magnetic field and electrically coupled to a diaphragm of a driver. The electrically-conductive mobile member is configured to move within the zone of operation of the magnetic field in response to the magnetic field when an alternating current is passed through the electrically-conductive mobile member.
