At least some of the liquid is filtered to remove contaminants from the liquid, and a second opacity count indicative of contaminants and/or bubbles in the filtered liquid is generated. Based at least in part on the first and second opacity counts, a contaminant count corresponding to an estimated number of contaminants in the liquid is then determined.
