Patent number: 11588820Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for determining network configurations through machine logic from security certificates of destination computer devices in the network. When a security component of a network receives an incoming data packet sent to a destination computer device in the network, a security certificate is requested from the destination computer device. The security component then configures a set of network rules for forwarding data packets to the destination computer device based on information in the security certificate of the destination computer device. Properties of the incoming data packet are compared to the set of network rules to determine whether to forward the incoming data packet to the destination computer.Type: GrantFiled: June 29, 2021Date of Patent: February 21, 2023Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Michael Guilford, Ricardo Torres, Jr., Karan Goenka, Daniel James Anderson

Patent number: 11275786Abstract: A method and system are provided for implementing enhanced cognitive searches optimized to integrate deployment with development testing. An initial body of works is ingested into a system capable of answering questions. A series of queries is analyzed against the initial body of works utilizing a set of scorers utilizing criteria to form assessments, wherein each scorer uses the criteria against the query and the initial body of works to form the assessment. The assessments are analyzed to determine a usefulness of a set of entries in the initial body of works. Content are deployed using the identified selected first set of entries as deployment ready, enabling enhanced cognitive search results.Type: GrantFiled: April 17, 2019Date of Patent: March 15, 2022Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Javier Ricardo Torres, Joseph Kozhaya, Andrew R. Freed, Corville O. Allen, Shikhar Kwatra

Patent number: 9959415Abstract: Methods and apparatus for use in presenting information from a plurality of security domains. A first request for first data from a first data source and a second request for second data from a second data source are transmitted by a computing device. The first data source is associated with a first security domain, and the second data source is associated with a second security domain. A bridge computing device forwards the first request and/or the second request based on determining that the requests are authorized. The first data and the second data may be received and combined by the computing device.Type: GrantFiled: December 17, 2010Date of Patent: May 1, 2018Assignee: The Boeing CompanyInventors: Ismael Rodriguez, Ross Wilson, Ricardo Torres, Michael C. Kline, Eric Irwin

Patent number: 9014920Abstract: A system and method uses a combination of sensors and electronics to reliably remind forgetful or negligent caregivers when they have or are about to leave one or more helpless occupants inside a vehicle, in addition to functioning as a traditional car alarm. One or more detectors sense the presence of the helpless occupant and the departure of the driver, at which time an ascending level of alarms are executed.Type: GrantFiled: March 14, 2013Date of Patent: April 21, 2015Inventors: Ricardo Torres, Hansel Rios-Torres

Patent number: 8547582Abstract: An approach is provided that prints print jobs based on energy demand data. The print job manager, which is a software application running on an information handling system receives a print request, the print request including a print job. The print job manager retrieves energy demand data. The energy demand data corresponds to a power grid that is a power source for a printer accessible from the information handling system. If the energy demand data indicates a a non-elevated energy demand, then the print job is printed on the printer. On the other hand, if the energy demand data indicates an elevated energy demand, then the print request is stored in a storage and the process waits until the energy demand is not elevated, at which time the print job is printed on the printer.Type: GrantFiled: March 7, 2012Date of Patent: October 1, 2013Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Nicholas James Noecker, Jr., Julio Eloy Ruano, Javier Ricardo Torres, Paul Stuart Williamson

Publication number: 20120231455Abstract: Four peptide nucleic acid probes (PNA) are for the detection of Helicobacter pylori and/or response analysis of Helicobacter pylori strains to clarithromycin. The probes are based in molecular biology methods, namely fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) that are used in H. pylori clarithromycin susceptibility diagnosis in several sample types, including clinical isolates and biopsies. Due to physical and chemical characteristics inherent in its structure, the probes allow a faster and more sensitive hybridization. A kit may use one or several probes described here and the related process of detection or quantification. The kit identifies H. pylori and its response to clarithromycin in clinical samples.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 13, 2010Publication date: September 13, 2012Applicant: Universidade Do MinhoInventors: Nuno Filipe Ribeiro Pinto De Olivera Azevedo, Laura Isabel Maciera Cerqueira, Nuno Ricardo Torres Faria, Maria João Lopes Da Costa Vieira
