  • Publication number: 20240133310
Abstract: The system comprises a rotary turbomachine, including dry gas seals. A seal leak gas collecting line fluidly connects the at dry gas seals to the seal leak gas inlet of the ejector. A seal leak gas discharging line fluidly couples the dry gas seals with a seal leak gas discharge at a discharge pressure, lower than the seal leak gas pressure. A leak discharge control valve along the seal leak gas discharging line is adapted to divert at least part of the seal leak gas in the seal leak gas discharging line. Also, a method for recovering seal gas leaking from a dry gas seal arrangement is disclosed.

  • Patent number: 8667700
Abstract: A method for checking the diameter of a cylindrical part, such as a crankpin of a crankshaft, in orbital motion in a numerical control grinding machine, by means of a checking apparatus with a Vee-shaped reference device for cooperating with the crankpin, a support device movably carrying the Vee-shaped reference device, and a measuring device movable with the Vee-shaped reference device. The Vee-shaped reference device is brought, from a rest position, into contact with the crankpin, and the contact, that defines a checking condition, is maintained by gravity during the orbital motion of the crankpin.

  • Patent number: 7760367
Abstract: An apparatus for checking mechanical pieces comprises a base (1), a locking and reference system (31), an optoelectronic measuring system (53), displacement systems (3, 9, 26) and a processing unit (25) for receiving and processing the signals of the optoelectronic system. The displacement systems also enable mutual translation displacements, along a transversal axis, between the optoelectronic system and the piece to be checked. A method of checking foresees to detect signals provided by the optoelectronic system relating to a surface (51) of the piece in the course of the mutual oscillations, at at least two different transversal positions (A, B), and carry out a processing in order to obtain information relating to a virtual surface (51?). The method and the apparatus enable to obtain information relating to the position and/or the arrangement and/or the shape of even very small-dimensioned component parts of hard disk storage units.

  • Patent number: 6884947
Abstract: An apparatus and a method for measuring the force (GL) applied by an elastically flexible element (5;71,71?) undergoing a pre-set elastic deformation, more specifically an element that carries a slider (3) and includes a thrust device that applies a force to the flexible element. The thrust device includes, for instance, a pneumatic nozzle (27;57,57?;28) for applying a force (R) to an intermediate portion (4) of the thin plate, at a thrust section (K). A position sensor (30;80) detects the height (z) of the slider—indicative of the deformation of the flexible element. The value (MF) of the moment of the applied torque when the height (ZF) of the slider indicates the pre-set elastic deformation of the flexible element, is utilized for calculating the force to be measured according to the formula GL=MF/L where L is the distance separating the slider from the section of weakness.

  • Patent number: 6006437
Abstract: A plug gauge for checking shape errors, in particular, the roundness of a valve seat. The plug gauge comprises seating surfaces adapted for cooperating with the surface of the valve seat, and a pneumatic circuit with an annular nozzle at the seating surfaces. The gauge comprises two coaxial cylindrical elements, one of the two housed within the other, that can reciprocally translate in an axial direction and that comprises associated resting surfaces, such that both cylindrical elements may rest on the seat surface to be checked. The annular nozzle is substantially defined by an internal and an external cylindrical portion of said two reciprocally movable elements.
