  • Patent number: 6664100
Abstract: A method for converting organic solid waste into humic products and the corresponding apparatus, in which a preliminary aerobic fermentation of the organic solid waste is performed, followed by a second aerobic fermentation of the organic waste in the presence of specific microorganisms in order to provide a basic precursor on which the selective metabolization occurs of specific bacterial strains to provide the humic product.

  • Patent number: 6423878
Abstract: An apparatus for the pyrolysis (cracking) of a polymeric material consisting of a reactor provided with a molten catalyst bed and a feeding extruder for introducing the polymeric material into the catalyst bed. The process consists in the introduction of a polymeric material in the molten catalyst bed for converting a variety of polymers, side-chain plastics, linear-chain plastics and halogenated plastics, such as for example PVC, into hydrocarbon products which are useful for energy generation while avoiding the pollution problems associated with the direct combustion of plastic materials. The process can also be used for cracking mixtures of polymeric material derived from the sorting of municipal solid waste.

  • Patent number: 6337056
Abstract: A process for refining noble metals from auriferous mines, wherein the auriferous material is first milled and treated with a cyanide solution, and comprising: a step for the pretreatment of the auriferous material, wherein the complexes of cyanide with noble metals are fixed on anionic resins and then incinerated; a predefining step, which comprises an etching of the materials incinerated during the pretreatment with a hydrochloric-nitric solution; and specific steps for refining the gold, palladium, platinum and silver.

  • Patent number: 6224915
Abstract: The aim of the present invention is to obtain bioproteins derived from whey and/or wheyey residues and waste of the dairy industry. The obtainment of these bioproteins therefore entails the treatment of the whey and/or wheyey residues and includes a method for eliminating the lactose contained in milk in order to subsequently be able to extrapolate the proteins therefrom so that they constitute a product which is reusable and, in particular, generally digestible. In order to provide the treatment according to the invention, there are also particular plant stages for performing this elimination at the cellular level. It is particularly important for the invention that specific microorganisms are used which perform the elimination at the cellular level of the lactose contained in whey and/or wheyey residues.

  • Patent number: 6103516
Abstract: A method for extracting vegetable oils from oleaginous plants in which the solid parts of the plants, which contain oils embedded in macromolecular polysaccharide substances typical of the integument of the plants, are subjected to an enzyme attack by means of at least one enzyme which lyses at least that polysaccharide. Then the oil contained in the solid parts is recovered by means of conventional mechanical recovery stages without using a solvent-based extraction stage.
