Abstract: The invention relates to polyunsaturated linear aldehydes and derivatives thereof which can be extracted from the feathers or tissues of parrots of prepared synthetically with antioxidant, antitumoral and anti-inflammatory activity, and which are useful in the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular, inflammatory, atherosclerotic, proliferative cell and tumour damage and the prevention of alterations caused by ageing.

Abstract: This invention provides a process for the preparing of (S) (+)-4,4'-(1-methyl-1,2-ethanediyl)-bis-(2,6-piperazinedione) (ICRF-187), by synthesizing a crude mixture comprising a 1,2-diaminopropane tetraacetic acid intermediate and byproducts; and then subjecting the tetraacetic acid intermediate, as part of the crude mixture, to ring formation in the presence of the byproducts, thereby producing ICRF-187 in commercially useful amounts.

Abstract: Compounds of formula I ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is OH or NH.sub.2 and R.sub.2 is H or NH.sub.2, R is H or lower alkyl, A is an alkyl chain optionally interrupted by heteroatoms and B is an amino acid, a di- or tri-peptide, are useful in human therapy.

Abstract: Compounds of formula I ##STR1## wherein R is a phenyl group; a phenyl group mono- or di-substituted by halogen atoms, methyl, methoxy, nitro, or trifluoromethyl group; or a 2-, 3- or 4-pyridyl group; and pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts thereof.Compounds I are prepared by reacting N-substituted piperazines with 1-(2',4'-dichloro-benzoylmetyl)-imidazole, optionally reducing thereafter the resulting enamines.Compounds I have antimycotic and antibacterial activities, higher than those of known comparison drugs.

Abstract: A novel triazole compound of the formula: ##STR1## The compound is particularly effective as pre-emergency herbicide. Dosages of 2.5 Kg/Ha to 10 Kg/Ha are recommended.
