  • Patent number: 8556647
Abstract: A cover plate for an electrical duplex receptacle has an opening or openings therein as required to permit insertion of male plugs into the respective receiving receptacles. A female receptacle component projects outwardly from the cover plate and receives a stud projecting from the body of an inserted plug to thereby lock the plug against withdrawal that would otherwise occur if sufficient force is applied to pull the plug out of the receptacle and cause a loss of power to connected electrical equipment and resulting interruption in the operation thereof.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 9, 2011
Date of Patent: October 15, 2013

  • Patent number: 7758371
Abstract: An electrical cord locking connector joins electrical cords in series and presents a streamlined profile that minimizes interference in restricted spaces through which the cords must be fed to service a job site. The connector joins the ends of successive cords utilizing the outwardly projecting shoulder provided on the female socket of one cord in cooperation with a latch member on the male end of the connecting cord to lock the two cords together.

The connector joins the ends of successive cords utilizing the outwardly projecting shoulder provided on the female socket of one cord in cooperation with a latch member on the male end of the connecting cord to lock the two cords together. A cord provided with a female end terminating in a replacement cord cap is provided with a socket presenting a generally circular face and an outwardly projecting shoulder at the face for engaging a releasable latch member of a mating plug, thereby preventing separation of the plug and socket under force until the latch member is disengaged.

  • Patent number: 5871069
Abstract: A power option is provided for a manually-operated material lift that employs a telescoping mast system which is extended or retracted by a winch. In one embodiment a reversible electric motor is connected to the winch via two-way reduction gearing that remains in the drive train during manual operation and requires no clutches or disconnect means. In a second embodiment a crankshaft that operates the winch is provided with slide couplings that either engage the manual operating handles or release the handles and engage the motorized drive. The power option is initiated by selecting the position of a reversing switch that controls the motor, and closing an on/off switch which energizes the motor for rotation in the selected direction. When the on/off switch is open, the lift may be manually operated in the conventional manner.
