  • Publication number: 20120173970
Abstract: Methods for generating a publication view of a handheld calculator document is provided. One method includes assigning a first page of a document to a first cell of a sheet in a publication view, wherein the sheet is logically divided into a plurality of cells arranged in a grid, and wherein the first page includes at least one application executable on a handheld calculator, formatting the first cell responsive to user-specified format changes, and saving the publication view of the document, wherein formatting information for the first cell is saved in association with the document. Another method includes opening a document in a publication view, wherein pages of the document are automatically assigned to cells in a grid in a sheet, formatting cells responsive to user-specified format changes, and saving the publication view of the document, wherein formatting information for the cells is saved in association with the document.

  • Publication number: 20090115782
Abstract: A method and system for simultaneously displaying and manipulating analytic objects and geometric objects on a display is provided. The display includes a coordinate system, such as an x-axis and a y-axis, on which an analytic object is shown. The display also includes a geometric object that is independent of the coordinate system. The scaling of the coordinate system may be altered and the analytic objects are automatically resized accordingly. The analytic objects and the geometric objects may share one or more common points. In this event, the position of the geometric objects may be changed to maintain the relative position and/or shape of the geometric object.

  • Patent number: 5860482
Abstract: A device and method for forming a downwardly extending hole in the surface of the earth for seismic exploration or for forming a larger diameter hole such as made during exploratory drilling. The hole forming device includes an elongated rigid planting member having a point or tip at its lower end which is forced downwardly into the earth's surface by a combination of forces. The multiple forces may include a primary downward force exerting a substantially constant downward push on the planting member and either or both additional forces imparted to the planting member when the primary force no longer moves the planting member downwardly.

  • Patent number: 5343002
Abstract: A disposable point detachably mounted on the lower end of a vertically movable hole forming elongated member with the point having an explosive charge mounted therein in order for the disposable point and explosive charge to remain in the bottom of a hole formed by the elongated member and point when they are forced into a subsurface formation which is to be seismically explored with the elongated member then being retracted.
