  • Patent number: 5572579
Abstract: In an Advanced Intelligent Telephone Network system, switching points are programmed to trigger a query to a Service Control Point ("SCP") in response to a dialed "500" number. The SCP performs a data request of an outside database storing service provider information, obtaining a service provider identification or a routing number corresponding to the dialed "500" number. The SCP then transmits a switching instruction to the service system point to route the call to the appropriate destination number.

  • Patent number: 5425090
Abstract: In a telephone network, customized advanced intelligent network (AIN) services are provided to standard IN/1 "800" service customers. An IN/1 service switching point (IN/1 SSP) receives a call directed to the standard IN/1 "800" service customer, and generates an "800" query to an "800" services data base. An "800" service control point ("800" SCP) generates an "800" response containing a carrier identification code, and the IN/1 SSP routes the call via a trunk group designated by the carrier identification code. An AIN-equipped service switching point (AIN SSP) then generates an AIN query to an AIN services data base. In response, an AIN-equipped service control point (AIN SCP) executes AIN service records corresponding to the standard IN/1 "800" service customer to generate an AIN response containing call processing instructions. The AIN SSP then uses the call processing instructions to complete the call.

  • Patent number: 4145578
Abstract: A method is disclosed of preferentially accessing a group of positions (12 in FIG. 1) for a first type of call over a second type of call in a telephone system (FIG. 1) in which the positions (12) are served by a uniform or automatic call distributing office (1). In accordance with one aspect of the invention, selected ones of the positions (12) are marked unavailable for serving calls after the completion of a call of the second type. Thereafter the selected positions are accessed by overriding the unavailable state for a prescribed number of calls of the first type and, at the completion of the prescribed number of calls, the selected positions are again marked available for serving calls. In accordance with a second aspect of the invention, responsive to a first prescribed traffic delay condition in placing calls of the first type to the positions, ones of the positions are successively marked unavailable for serving calls as each completes a call. This occurs as long as the traffic delay state exists.
