  • Publication number: 20240161743
Abstract: Generating expanded responses that guide continuance of a human-to computer dialog that is facilitated by a client device and that is between at least one user and an automated assistant. The expanded responses are generated by the automated assistant in response to user interface input provided by the user via the client device, and are caused to be rendered to the user via the client device, as a response, by the automated assistant, to the user interface input of the user. An expanded response is generated based on at least one entity of interest determined based on the user interface input, and is generated to incorporate content related to one or more additional entities that are related to the entity of interest, but that are not explicitly referenced by the user interface input.

  • Publication number: 20240099178
Abstract: A system and method that automatically monitors product use, such as the type and amount of agricultural and/or horticultural product stored in and dispensed from a cartridge over time and/or by geographic location. Monitored data are stored in memory such as a tag on the cartridge and may be transmitted to a server for storage, aggregation, and analysis. The cartridge may be authenticated before being authorized for use for the benefit of a current user in dispensing the product. The cartridge may be refilled after confirmation of authorization codes on the cartridge and refilling equipment tags. The cartridge may be calibrated automatically based on the bulk density or other parameter of the product in the cartridge. Data may be aggregated from a plurality of cartridges automatically. As-applied data from individual cartridges may be used to verify, independent of operator input, treated area coverage and product application rate.

  • Publication number: 20170040195
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a precise cut, reusable tooling assembly used to precisely hold and align a package base during manufacture into an electronic package that protects electronic circuits, microelectronic circuits and semiconductors. The assembly comprises a carrier plate and a template, and an optional interface bloc, all of which secure a lower or intermediate section of the outer periphery of the package base to prevent movement of the package base during manufacturing processes. The assembly can also be used to transfer a sealed electronic package between manufacturing process equipment by hand without having to contact the electronic package. The invention includes end effector tooling useful for precisely aligning a lid relative to a package body. The effector tooling includes an angled surface that contacts upper edges of a lid and seal ring.

  • Publication number: 20130073343
Abstract: A task fulfillment system is provided for facilitating the management and completion of activities by both single and team users. The system uses a social network platform to bring local community members together for the purpose of participating in activities and achieving life goals. Both personal and business users may submit tasks to the system, which are then available for others to view. Interested users select tasks to participate in and the system tracts their progress towards task completion. Users can participate individually or group together in teams to undertake larger projects. Earned points may be used for special promotions, discounts with website advertisers, or discounts on future task activities. The system provides a ranking method based on points earned for task completion. It thus inspires competition amongst community members and instigates participating in a variety of activities.

  • Patent number: 8085886
Abstract: A method is provided for processing a signal containing regular or quasi-regular elements of unwanted signal. The method establishes timing characteristics of the unwanted signal elements in a portion of the signal. A time domain window function is generated using the established timing characteristics. The generated window function is applied to the signal portion to selectively reduce the amplitude of the unwanted signal elements relative to the amplitude of other elements of the signal.

  • Patent number: 7936302
Abstract: A method and apparatus are described for the unwrapping of a set of phase values observed for an incoming signal on a phased array antenna. The difference between values observed on adjacent elements in the array forms a first data set. The differences between adjacent ordinates in the first data set forms a second data set. The values in the second data set are rounded to the nearest whole multiple of one complete cycle before the differencing process is reversed to provide the values (representing a whole number of complete cycles) which are added to the observed phase values to provide the unwrapped phase values.

  • Patent number: 7907684
Abstract: Described herein is a method for signal regeneration, particularly, of the signal type transmitted by cellular base stations used in cellular telephone network systems. It is sometimes necessary to regenerate an accurate replica of a transmitted signal, by removing any errors that are present and/or compensate for any degradation that occur during transmission. The signal structure of signals transmitted within the cellular network systems is of a known form with predefined characteristics such as synchronization signals, error correction bursts or training sequences.

  • Patent number: 7894557
Abstract: Described herein is a method for determining the amount of interference in a received signal that comprises a wanted signal and a plurality of interfering signals. The method comprises selecting a plurality of first known structures in the wanted signal, processing the received signal in accordance with said plurality of first known structures to derive amplitude values corresponding to the said first known structures; and using the amplitude values to determine wanted signal and interfering signal power values. Additionally, a calibration step can be included to convert the power values into absolute power measurements.

  • Publication number: 20100286280
Abstract: Compounds suitable for use in providing male contraception, an assay method for identifying such compounds, and methods of providing contraception using the compounds, are provided. The compounds described herein inhibit Eppin-semenogelin binding, and inhibit forward motility of sperm in humans and other primates. The assays identify compounds which both inhibit eppin-semenogelin binding and inhibit sperm motility, and can be carried out in a high throughput manner, using labeled recombinant Eppin and semenogelin. The compounds can be used in oral or transdermal compositions to temporarily and reversibly inhibit male fertility. They can also be used in addition to, or in place of, spermicides in spermicidal compositions, such as those used in conjunction with condoms, diaphragms, and spermicidal jellies.

  • Patent number: 5347070
Abstract: The present invention includes a method of treating solid earthen material having volatile, semi-volatile and non-volatile contaminants. Six electrodes are inserted into a region of earthen material to be treated in a substantially equilateral hexagonal arrangement. Six phases of voltages are applied to corresponding electrodes. The voltages are adjusted within a first range of voltages to create multiple current paths between pairs of the electrodes. The current paths are evenly distributed throughout the region defined by the electrodes and therefore uniformly heat the region. The region of earthen material is heated to a temperature sufficient to substantially remove volatile and semi-volatile contaminants. This temperature is less than a melting temperature of the earthen material. The voltages are then increased to a second range of voltages effective to create dry regions around the electrodes.
