  • Publication number: 20170273423
Abstract: An attachment for a hair care appliance includes a body having a fluid inlet, a fluid outlet, a fluid flow path extending between the fluid inlet and the fluid outlet, a first vane and a second vane for directing fluid within the fluid flow path towards the fluid outlet wherein the body comprises at least two extended plates and the fluid outlet comprises a slot defined by an overlap between the at least two extended plates wherein the first vane and the second vane are curved and positioned within the overlap between the at least two extended plates wherein the first vane and the second vanes curve in opposite directions. The fluid inlet may have a first cross sectional area, the body includes an outer wall that has a second cross sectional area, and wherein the second cross sectional area is greater than the first cross sectional area.

Abstract: An attachment for a hair care appliance includes a body having a fluid inlet, a fluid outlet, a fluid flow path extending between the inlet and outlet and at least one vane for directing fluid within the fluid flow path towards the fluid outlet, wherein the body includes at least two extended plates and the fluid outlet includes a slot defined by an overlap between the at least two extended plates, and wherein the at least one vane is positioned within the overlap between the at least two extended plates. The body may be elongate, may have a first end including the fluid inlet, and may extend along an axis. The fluid outlet may extend along the axis between the first end and a second end. The at least one vane may direct fluid flowing in the fluid flow path from a first direction to a second direction.

  • Patent number: 7721385
Abstract: A filter housing includes an inlet for receiving an airflow, a cavity for receiving a filter and an airflow passage between the inlet and the cavity. At least one vane, positioned in the airflow passage, partitions the airflow passage into a plurality of ducts. The vanes lie adjacent to, or contact, the upstream surface of the filter such that each duct communicates with a separate portion of the upstream surface of the filter. The airflow passage extends in a direction which is inclined to the upstream surface of the filter. The vanes help to distribute the flow of air more evenly across the surface of the filter and also help to reduce acoustic emissions from the machine of which the filter housing forms a part.

  • Patent number: 7425225
Abstract: An exhaust assembly for an appliance includes a filter housing for retaining a filter and an exhaust duct which receives airflow from the filter housing. One or more vanes are positioned in the filter housing for guiding airflow from the exhaust side of the filter to the exhaust duct. The vanes spread the airflow entering the exhaust duct across the width thereof so as to reduce noise and to reduce the velocity of the exiting air. The exhaust duct increases in cross-sectional area in the direction of flow through the exhaust duct so as to further reduce the velocity of the exiting air.

  • Patent number: 7258714
Abstract: A filter housing includes an inlet for receiving airflow, a cavity for receiving a filter and an airflow passage between the inlet and the filter. At least one vane is positioned in the airflow passage for partitioning the airflow passage into a plurality of ducts. Each vane has a non-linear shape in the direction of flow through the airflow passage. This helps to reduce acoustic emissions from the machine since sound waves emitted by the fan and/or motor are caused to bounce off the vanes, which allows the vanes to absorb some of the sound energy. The filter housing can form part of a vacuum cleaner.

  • Patent number: 6676532
Abstract: A screen assembly (10, 110, 160) usable as golf practice apparatus, the assembly comprising a rotatable upstanding elongate member (12, 112) from which netting screens (16, 116) can extend in a generally vertical plane, and which can be wound around the member (12, 112) when not in use. A constant force spring (28, 128) is provided for automatic rewinding of the screens (16, 116) onto the member (12, 112). The free ends of the screens (16, 116) are provided with bars (22, 122) which are engageable with the ground in use. Further screens (20, 21, 120, 121) are provided to protect the joint between the screens (16, 116) and also to provide a ceiling layer therebetween.
