  • Patent number: 7455852
Abstract: The present invention provides an insect repellent fragrance comprising; (a) at least 10% by weight of the insect repellent fragrance of geraniol; (b) at least 10% by weight of the insect repellent fragrance of diethyl phthalate; and (c) at least one or more of linalol, limonene, citronellal, terpinolene and p-tertiary butyl cyclohexyl acetate; wherein the insect repellent fragrance comprises at least 60% by total weight of the insect repellent fragrance of (a), (b) and (c). The insect repellent fragrance surprisingly demonstrates effective repellency, particularly against cockroaches, and more particularly against both German and American cockroaches.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 6927195
Abstract: Particles suitable for inclusion in a dry product or article, typically a laundry powder, comprise a core of swellable material, e.g. an organic polymer, containing perfume absorbed therein, the core being coated with water-soluble encapsulating material impervious to the perfume. The coating of the particles acts to prevent premature evaporation or dissipation from the particles of the loaded perfume until the coating is dissolved on contact with water in use.

Date of Patent: August 9, 2005
    Assignee: Quest International Services B.V.

  • Patent number: 6660288
Abstract: The use of specific perfume ingredients, e.g. tricyclodecenyl allyl ether, to repel insects. The perfume ingredients may be used in a composition comprising from 0.1 to 40 percent by weight of one or more of the perfume ingredients. Preferably at least one of the perfume ingredients has a hydrophobicity such that the common logarithm of the octanol-water partition coefficient, log P, of the perfume ingredient is in the range 1.0 to 6.0.

  • Patent number: 5876755
Abstract: Disclosed is a composition comprising a substance encapsulated within a water-sensitive matrix so as to be releasable upon contact with water or aqueous solutions, mixed with particles of inorganic carrier material carrying a poorly water-soluble oil, such that the composition is stable at high relative humidity. Also disclosed are consumer products comprising said compositions and methods for making said compositions.

Inventors: Keith Douglas Perring, Richard Arthur Birch, Jeremy Nicholas Ness
  • Patent number: 5840668
Abstract: The invention concerns perfumed, free flowing concentrated laundry detergent powders (concentrates), having a ratio of total solid constituents to total liquid constituents of less than 30:1, wherein the perfume is sorbed onto carrier particles which release at least 60% w/w/ of the perfume in the Perfume Release Test and which are inert as defined by the Perfume Stability Test. The invention also concerns perfume-on-carrier systems designed for perfuming free flowing concentrated laundry detergent powders. Preferably the carrier particles are inorganic and have a perfume content of at least 25% w/w.

  • Patent number: 5711941
Abstract: The invention concerns perfumed underarm hygiene products containing perfume encapsulated in a film forming encapsulation material showing improved re-encapsulating properties as evidenced by the "perfume re-encapsulation test. The underarm hygiene products preferably contain 0.05-10% w/w of perfume encapsulates. The perfume encapsulates used contain preferably 15-65% w/w of perfume. The underarm hygiene products may additionally contain a quantity of neat perfume.
