    Abstract: A compact portable lock has a locking plunger angled to fit into a pre-drilled opening in a door or window rail permitting a lock with very minimal clearance requirements with regard to the adjacent frame. A window in the bottom cover plate of the lock accommodates a flange on the lock plunger and defines the travel of the plunger.
