  • Publication number: 20070176648
Abstract: Accurate correction of a local clock that avoids excessive drift in the local clock while avoiding an accumulation of quantization errors. • Publication number: 20070024713
Abstract: Imaging Parallel Interface Random Access Memory (IPIRAM). An integrated circuit imaging device presents to external circuitry as a static, parallel-interface RAM. Internally, a two-port RAM has access resolved by contention logic to permit access by external circuitry or internal imaging. The RAM is organized as one or more image buffers and a set of memory-mapped control and status registers. The imaging array, when active, automatically fills an image buffer with image data, which may be accessed by external circuitry in random-access fashion. Control and status registers may be used to start and stop the imaging process, set and interrogate imaging parameters. The IPIRAM may also include auxiliary processing circuitry to perform functions such as image compression, scaling, edge and feature extraction, and the like.

  • Publication number: 20070024904
Abstract: Imaging serial interface ROM (ISIROM). An integrated circuit imaging device presents to external circuitry as a read-only memory (ROM) with a serial interface. The ISIROM contains internal memory which stores data from the imaging array. When active, the imaging array automatically fills an image buffer in the internal memory with image data. This image data may be accessed by external circuitry in random-access fashion. Control and status registers may be used to start and stop the imaging process, set and interrogate imaging parameters. The ISIROM may also include auxiliary processing circuitry to perform functions such as image compression, scaling, edge and feature extraction, and the like.

  • Publication number: 20060256215
Abstract: An image processing system subtracts dark noise out of images based on a dark noise scale factor. The image processing system includes an image sensor for capturing a current image and producing current image data representing the current image. The current image data includes both a dark noise signal and an image signal. The dark noise scale factor for the current image is estimated from the current image data and reference image data representing a reference dark noise signal. The reference dark noise signal is scaled by the dark noise scale factor to produce a scaled dark noise signal from which the current image data is subtracted to produce the image signal.

  • Publication number: 20060140443
Abstract: A method and apparatus for intelligent distributed analyses of images including capturing the images and analyzing the captured images, where feature information is extracted from the captured images. The extracted feature information is used in determining whether a predefined condition is met, and the extracted feature information is transmitted for further analysis when the predefined condition is met. • Publication number: 20060081400
Abstract: A system and method for lifting and translating extended length objects includes a power roller assembly attached to an extendable mast. When a roller on the power roller assembly contacts the outer surface of the extended length object, extension or retraction of the extendable mast enables lifting or lowering of the end of the extended length object. • Publication number: 20060044276
Abstract: An a data input system includes an encoded pad having position encoding and a data input device adapted to image a portion of the encoded pad to determine position and orientation of the data input device relative to the encoded pad. The encoding pad includes a plurality of correlation windows. Each correlation window includes a primary encoding marker in form of vertical line segment and a set of secondary encoding markers in form of diagonal line segments, at least one diagonal line segment intersecting the vertical line segment at an intersection angle. Spacing of the diagonal line segments encodes the X-axis position of the input device relative to the encoding pad. Intersection angle encodes the Y-axis position of the input device relative to the encoding pad. Angle of the primary encoding marker vertical line segment within the frame of the captured image encodes the angular orientation of the input device relative to the axes of the encoded pad.

  • Publication number: 20050117017
Abstract: A camera uses a map to retrieve image data pertaining to two or more region of interest segments (ROI segments) within the field-of-view (FOV) of the camera. The map identifies selected pixels of the image located in the region of interest segments. Image data corresponding to the image can be stored and the image data associated with the selected pixels can be accessed individually. In other embodiments, image data associated with the selected pixels is read off of the image sensor row-by-row or pixel-by-pixel. The camera can be included within an optical inspection system to analyze ROI segments on a target surface by transmitting only the image data associated with the ROI segments from the camera to an image processing system of the optical inspection system.
