  • Publication number: 20180309710
Abstract: Technology is disclosed for detecting, classifying, and/or enforcing rules on social networking activity. The technology can scan and collect social content data from one or more social networks, store the social content data, classify content data posted to a social network, create and apply a set of social data content rules to future posted social content data.

  • Patent number: 10062060
Abstract: A system for optical character recognition pre-verification is provided. The system may review payment documents. The payment documents may include remit stubs and paper checks. The system, utilizing optical character recognition software, may determine dollar amounts on the remit stubs and the paper checks. The optical character recognition software may determine a confidence level of whether the determined amount is the same amount that the writer of the check. If the confidence level is above first predetermined threshold level of confidence and below a second predetermined threshold level of confidence, the system may present an operator with a pre-verification GUI. The pre-verification GUI may include a view of the remit stub, a view of the check, the dollar amount due, a match button and a do not match button. Upon selection of either the match or do not match button, the payment may be processed in another check-processing system.

  • Patent number: 10007898
Abstract: A method for database retrieval is provided. The method may include receiving a history datastore. The method may include receiving a payment, i.e., a paper check. The method may include simultaneously scanning the check into a grayscale image and black and white image. The method may include reviewing each pixel on the black and white image alone and in combination with surrounding pixels to determine an arrangement of shaded pixels. When the arrangement of shaded pixels is determined to be above a predetermined threshold of similarity to a predefined set of characters, the method may determine a subset of characters and store the subset of characters in a memory. The method may include crawling the history datastore to determine information which corresponds to the subset of characters stored in memory and retrieving the corresponding information. The method may include showing the corresponding information and the payment on a GUI.

  • Publication number: 20180171350
Abstract: Described herein are transgenic soybean chromosomes containing a recombinant DNA that transcribes to an RNA molecule that hybridizes to and forms a cleavage-resistant duplex with either a mature miR171 miRNA or a transcript of a target gene having a recognition site for a mature miR171 miRNA whereby the function of the miR171 miRNA is inhibited and thereby imparts enhanced agronomic traits to soybean plants such as increased pods per node, increased number of nodes, a decreased distance between nodes, and a twisted stem.

  • Publication number: 20170358032
Abstract: Technology is disclosed for detecting imposters of a brand account. The technology can store a brand profile of the brand account, detect that a message has been publicly communicated to the brand account from a social media account, monitor messages sent publicly to the social media account from other social media accounts by repeatedly comparing the brand profile to metadata of each of the monitored messages, and identify at least one of the other social media accounts as an imposter account based on the comparing. The technology can cease the comparing at predetermined expiration time occurring after the detection of the message that was sent publicly to the brand account.

  • Publication number: 20170046872
Abstract: A system is provided that allows a user to visualize data. A dataset that includes a plurality of data items arranged in a two-dimensional (2D) format is received. A request to visualize the dataset in three dimensions is then received. A three-dimensional (3D) visualization of the dataset is then generated based on this request. This 3D visualization adds a third dimension to the 2D arrangement of data items, where the extent of the third dimension is commensurate with the type and value of the data items. This 3D visualization includes an initial depiction of the dataset which is generated from a point of view that is specified by this request. The initial depiction of the dataset is then displayed on a display device of the system in lieu of the dataset itself.

  • Patent number: 9513798
Abstract: Indirect multi-touch interaction is described. In an embodiment, a user interface is controlled using a cursor and a touch region comprising a representation of one or more digits of a user. The cursor and the touch region are moved together in the user interface in accordance with data received from a cursor control device, such that the relative location of the touch region and the cursor is maintained. The representations of the digits of the user are moved in the touch region in accordance with data describing movement of the user's digits. In another embodiment, a user interface is controlled in a first mode of operation using an aggregate cursor, and switched to a second mode of operation in which the aggregate cursor is divided into separate portions, each of which can be independently controlled by the user.

  • Patent number: 9086741
Abstract: A user input device is described. In an embodiment the user input device is hand held and comprises a sensing strip to detect one-dimensional motion of a user's finger or thumb along the sensing strip and to detect position of a user's finger or thumb on the sensing strip. In an embodiment the sensed data is used for cursor movement and/or text input at a master device. In an example the user input device has an orientation sensor and orientation of the device influences orientation of a cursor. For example, a user may move the cursor in a straight line in the pointing direction of the cursor by sliding a finger or thumb along the sensing strip. In an example, an alphabetical scale is displayed and a user is able to zoom into the scale and select letters for text input using the sensing strip.

  • Publication number: 20140129632
Abstract: A computer implemented method includes monitoring changes to an account accessible by a group of subscribers that form a social network. The changes to the account are compared to a normative base line to identify deviations from the normative base line. An alert is sent in response to deviations from the normative base line. The normative base line is defined by metadata gathered through an application program interface associated with the account, account entity data and a set of predefined rules.

  • Patent number: 8555192
Abstract: A sketching and searching application for idea generation is described. In an embodiment, a software application is described which has a user interface which comprises a sketching area. When a user draws or annotates a sketch in the application, the application automatically searches for images based on the sketch and displays results in the form of images outside the sketching area. These images are used to inspire new ideas and to facilitate the creative process in a way that is closely linked with the sketching process. When the sketch is updated, additional searching is automatically performed and new results are displayed. In some examples the sketching area is deformable and deformation may cause new results to be displayed and in some examples the user is able to drag image results into the sketching area to enable tracing of the image or to include the image in the sketch.

  • Patent number: 8489569
Abstract: Retrieval and display of digital media items is described. For example, the digital media items may be photographs, videos, audio files, emails, text documents or parts of these. In an embodiment a dedicated apparatus having a touch display screen is provided in a form designed to look like a domestic fish tank. In an embodiment graphical animated agents are depicted on the display as fish whose motion varies according to at least one behavior parameter which is pseudo random. In embodiments, the agents have associated search criteria and when a user selects one or more agents the associated search criteria are used in a retrieval operation to retrieve digital media items from a store. In some embodiments media items are communicated between the apparatus and a portable communications device using a communications link established by tapping the portable device against the media retrieval and display apparatus.
