  • Publication number: 20070057647
Abstract: An apparatus is provided for controlling a single phase induction motor having a main winding, an auxiliary start winding and a start capacitor in series with the start winding. The apparatus comprises a sensing means for sensing the voltage across the main winding and across the start winding of the induction motor, a means for detecting a condition of the sensed voltages across the main and start windings that is indicative of the phase angle between the voltage across the main and start windings. The apparatus comprises a switching means for disconnecting the start capacitor from the start winding when the switching means is energized, and a microcomputer for energizing the switching means to disconnect the start capacitor from the start winding in response to determining when the phase angle between the voltage across the main winding and the start winding increases by more than a predetermined amount.

  • Publication number: 20060195974
Abstract: An adjustment system for a helmet includes a stabilizer plate configured to be movably attached to an underside of the helmet, at least one adjustment member movably retained by the stabilizer plate, and a locking member that securely retains the adjustment member. The locking member is configured to be selectively engaged to move the adjustment member relative to the stabilizer plate so that the stabilizer plate is configured to move relative to the helmet.

  • Patent number: 6777653
Abstract: An igniter controller for controlling an igniter, such as a silicon nitride hot surface igniter, provides high frequency switching of full wave rectified alternating current across the igniter using a switching transistor in combination with a filter and a full wave rectifier bridge. The igniter controller may be tuned based upon the particular igniter in connection with which control is provided to allow for precise control of switching of power to the igniter. The full wave rectifier bridge is provided in connection with the switching transistor to provide high frequency switching of AC power across the igniter.
