  • Patent number: 6166381
Abstract: A detector for detecting radiant energy includes at least one detecting element and a detector readout element. The at least one detecting element substantially absorbs the radiant energy and exhibits a structural change in response thereto. The detector readout element, positioned in non-contacting proximity to the at least one detecting element, is responsive to the structural change of the at least one detecting element. The non-contacting detector readout element provides an indication signal corresponding to the structural change, whereby the corresponding indication signal is representative of the radiant energy detected by the at least one detecting element.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 6, 1998
Date of Patent: December 26, 2000
    Assignee: AIL Systems, Inc.
Inventors: Richard C. Augeri, Ronald A. Lange, Richard T. Knadle

  • Patent number: 5606165
Abstract: A square anti-symmetric uniformly redundant array coded aperture includes transparent and opaque cells and exhibits a normal mask pattern at a first position and a complementary mask pattern when rotated to a second position rotationally offset by 90.degree. from the first position. The coded aperture is utilized in a coded aperture imaging system for imaging a source of non-focusable radiation such as a gamma ray or x-ray emitting source.
